I have recently received 2 recalls on my 2013 Hyundai Elantra, both times I have had the pleasure of working with Juan and both times he has always done all he could to go above and beyond with the servi Elantra, both times I have had the pleasure of working with Juan and both times he has always done all he could to go above and beyond with the service of my vehicle and the transportation needed to get me to and from the dealership. He always greets me with a smile and makes me feel that I am always going to be taken care of during the service of my vehicle. The hood of our Palisade would not open, so we brought it in for that plus an oil change. The service tech blamed the hood on having a zip tie VERY loosely attached to it. It had been attached since July 2020, a month after the vehicle was purchased. Because of this improperly diagnosed cause, we were told warranty would not cover the repair. But here's the kicker - THEY HAD TO FIX THE LATCH TO OPEN THE HOOD!! So, this tech proceeds to fix it, take video under the hood, then undoes the fix in a way that was worse than before (previously could at least feel some sort of catch). We tell them we want no work and pick up the Palisade. I bring it home, remove the panel, and put a better solution in place to hold the cable in place than the engineers design (a small zip-tie around the connecting metal). This took less than 30 minutes, and I haven't opened up a panel for a vehicle in 15 years. I can only assume that the tech gets paid more for non-warranty work versus warranty work, but for this swing at $200, Big Star has lost a customer that would have spent thousands in future maintenance because we are loyal to great service. More
