I reached out to several different Chevrolet dealers and inquired about a specific truck I was interested in. Carter was the only dealer that gave me their best price the first time and did not pressure me into anything. The best part out of all of it was that I even got the exact truck that I wanted and sacrificed nothing. (trim, color, etc.) If you don’t want to get hustled by a big city dealer it is worth the drive. It honestly took me the least amount of time at Carter than the other dealers because I didn’t have to play the back and forth pricing game. I simply showed up and bought the truck with no surprises. Great prices and great selection of trucks and they know that. They will try and use it against you at every step of the process. I asked if that’s the best they thought they could do and I was told yes. I had to specifically ask if they tried other banks and then request for them to shop around for my loan. I’ve bought several vehicles in my life from different dealers and one of the pros of getting financing at a dealership is they will search for a good loan deal for you, saving you from hitting up several different banks. Carter didn’t seem to even attempt, just said that’s what they think is the best. I was ready to leave and they seemed fine with it, but I knew their vehicle price with options would have been hard to beat. I had great credit and eventually was able to get a deal done. Just overall disappointed with their financing departments knowledge and effort. Overall there were very poor attitudes displayed during the sales negotiations and an obvious attitude of not caring if they got my business or not. Unsure if I would recommend this dealership to someone not experienced in car buying. They have great prices and selection but I feel an inexperienced buyer could get trapped in a harmful loan. More
