I brought my 2013 KIA Soul in for service on August 19th for an oil change, and to have my ignition upgraded against theft, and a fuse replaced (fire hazard recall). The service was completed in a very timely fashion, but more importantly, although Sam and I discussed one item that I might want to take care of at my next service interval, he didn't try to sell me anything I didn't actually need. I live in Barefoot Landing, 70 miles south of Coastal KIA, but was willing to make the drive to Wilmington, because the last time I took my vehicle to Myrtle Beach KIA, they told me my battery was only registering 150 CC amps out of 600 and that it needed to be replaced. Even had a coupon for 10% off a $244 battery . . . I declined the offer, but understandably left more than a little concerned. On the way home, I stopped and had the battery tested. It came up 560 CC out of 600. When I got home I called the service department, spoke with my advisor, and told him about the second opinion I had done on my battery. He had no explanation, but said he would let his manager know there might be a issue with the battery tester. (I couldn't help but wonder how many perfectly good batteries were being replaced on a daily basis for no reason.) About a week later, I received a letter from the "Service Manager" thanking me for my visit, and strongly recommending (in red ink no less) I replace my battery. About once a month I receive a similar letter from them regarding the "urgent" state of my battery . . . During my first visit to Coastal KIA, Sam was able to earn my trust, which is imparative when working with a service advisor. I will continue to make the drive to Coastal KIA to work with Sam. He gave me an honest evaluation of my vehicle, got me in and out in a timely fashion . . . and DIDN'T try to sell me a battery I don't need. Thanks again Sam . . . More

In the past, I have always given this dealership raving reviews. After the service I received this week, I will not purchase another KIA. To make a long story short, we had a light come on on our dash that reviews. After the service I received this week, I will not purchase another KIA. To make a long story short, we had a light come on on our dash that showed an emission problem. I had an 11:45 am appointment, and it took 4 hours to do the diagnostic. They said I just needed a new gas cap. Another dealer sells it for $15.60, but I was told my plan had a $100 deductible and there would be a $3 fee for using a credit card. I had paid for being a distinction care member, and I feel this was a rip-off on the cost of $100 for the gas cap. My bill totaled $257.37 for the diagnostic and gas cap. And why do you make appointments if a person is supposed to sit for 4 hours for you all to do a check on an engine light. I also felt my intelligence was insulted when one of the employees said, "You must not understand how retail works." I also felt I should have been informed of the $100 charge on the gas cap before a new one was placed on. In addition, I was charged for disposing supplies. I would have gotten rid of the old gas cap myself. The diagnostic charge was $179.95. Auto Zone does diagnostic tests for free. I guess I'll go there from now on. More

I had a very good service experience . All of the staff members I had contact with were courteous and friendly. I had an appointment and the service representative was ready to check me in All of the staff members I had contact with were courteous and friendly. When they did the multi-point inspection they made me aware of an alignment problem, which I authorized them to fix. The servicing and alignment on my car was completed within the time I was given at check in.. I also used the shuttle service and was very pleased with the prompt pickup and return back to the dealership. More
