Making $ is their only objective The first time I took my Ecodiesel in for a "fuel injection quantity lower than expected", a very common and well-known issue with the Ram Ecodiesels The first time I took my Ecodiesel in for a "fuel injection quantity lower than expected", a very common and well-known issue with the Ram Ecodiesels requiring replacement of the fuel injectors, they mis-diagnosed the issue 3 times before finally getting it right. They had provided a loaner each time and everything was covered under warranty, so the inconvenience was at least palatable. But I should point out that my father has the exact same truck and when he got the "fuel injection quantity lower than expected" error code, the dealer he took it to immediately replaced the fuel injectors. Fast forward about a year...I took my truck in for the Emissions recall. Surprise! The check engine light came on the very next day. Assuming that it had to be associated with the emissions reprograming fix, I took it back in. The code was once again the "fuel injection quantity lower than expected". Yet, again they mis-diagnosed the issue; first telling me that it was the fuel filter. When I reminded them that they had recently changed the fuel filter, they quickly said that it was the engine coolant temperature sensor and they wanted ~$300 to fix it. Wait, what? I asked for the part #, which they provided. The part was $52 with an FCA expected 0.6 hour labor (just to be sure, I called another Ram dealer - they said it should be about $100-$125 repair). When I questioned as to why this was not covered under the extended warranty that came with the Emissions recall (as is very clearly states on the FCA paperwork that Cortese handed me) they said that it wasn’t. So obviously I took it to the other dealer. They found nothing wrong with the engine coolant temperature sensor and correctly diagnosed the issue and replaced the fuel injectors (under warranty). I will never take my vehicle back to Cortese for service. I have no faith or trust in them whatsoever. All they seem to care about is making money. More

oil change and basic electric repair Brought Durango in for an oil change and service on nonfunctional keyless entry system. I purchased the extended warranty from the Cortese salesperson at the time of vehicle purchase who stated "if something is wrong with the electronics, this will cover it." The diagnostic portion alone cost $125 and revealed some wiring was disconnected. The service team reconnected the wires and fixed the problem. I was informed that, unless a part or "repair" is required, the warranty does not cover the issue, nor the diagnostic fee. The service representative, despite after a lengthy review, remained certain that reconnecting loose or disconnected wiring did not constitute a repair. There was no clear explanation of what reconnecting the wiring would best be described as. The issue at hand is not the $125 diagnostics, and am happy with the repair as the keyless entry now works. There are 2 aspects of the interaction that were unsatisfactory. 1. The service manager was insistent that the service provided was not a repair is illogical and was essentially an affront to basic intelligence. 2. The abandonment of any association with the extended warranty sold through the Cortese corporation. It would appear the warranty (>$1000) is not worth much more than the paper it was printed on. The Cortese Auto Block should be embarrassed for promoting such an inept product. The coup de gras was a mile or so away after leaving the service center, the oil change light came on. More
