It was a pleasure getting our 2014 Odyssey from DCH Honda in Paramus. DCH came in with the best price up front through the Costco auto program, and simply would not be undersold by other dealerships. My experience buying a used car started out good but did not end well. I went to DCH Paramus Honda to purchase a used 2007 Toyota Camry with 91k miles and selling for $9916. Salesman Umair Khan seemed ver not end well. I went to DCH Paramus Honda to purchase a used 2007 Toyota Camry with 91k miles and selling for $9916. Salesman Umair Khan seemed very nice and helpful. He showed me the car that I was interested in, which was in average condition but needed new front tires. Umair agreed and said that he would reduce the price $300. I was okay with that and stated that we had a deal. Since this was the Thanksgiving holiday, I informed the salesman that I would be in on Monday to close the deal. On Monday the salesman informed me that new tires were installed on the car and the $300 discount was no longer in effect. I felt that I should have had a say in this since we did verbally agree on the $300 discount. From there we went to the garage where the car was being prepared. There was a nice shiney coat of Tire Bright on the side walls which made the tires look new. I honestly did not feel the need to look any futher since I had trusted the salesman and the dealership. By the end of the week my tires were not looking so new. Upon futher inspection it became clear that DCH Paramus Honda had simply rotated the front tires with the rear tires. I called my salesman who acted surprised but eager to fix the issue with new tires as promised. I wanted to know what kind of new tires were going to be installed but he could not give me an answer. I also wanted to know why the tires were rotated to began with. He had no explanation. One of the reasons that I went to DCH Paramus Honda was there 5 day return policy. If for any reason you are not happy with your purchase, you have 5 days or 500 miles to return your vehicle for a full refund. I decided to use this option on the 5th day. I am happy to say that DCH Paramus Honda did return my money. When I was asked why, I stated that I could not trust DCH Paramus Honda. The best explanation that was given to me for this debacle was by manager CJ Slitas. He claimed that the approval for new tires needed his signature and that new tires would have been installed the following Monday. This was a blatant lie. I would not have paid $300 additional for new tires that were not on the car. Furthermore, new tires being installed on the car at a later date was never discussed with me. When I told the salesman that someone was responsible for rotating the front tires with the rear tires, he replied that it was the mechanics fault. Nevertheless, Umair raised the price without checking that new tires had been put on, while the manager just made up a story to try and cover. More

A brief aside will not be out of place here. I was recently at a different Honda dealer and couldn't believe that the manager there was rude in dealing with us. So when I had to buy a car for mysel recently at a different Honda dealer and couldn't believe that the manager there was rude in dealing with us.
