My truck was taken in for warranty work, I got told to wait three weeks before it would get checked out which to my surprise they had in in the shop in a week. The truck I had bought 2 years ago had started to shift very hard into gear. Especially when I went to a complete stop. That being said, I explained this in great detail to the service manager. I got a call 2 weeks later saying that my truck was all set and that the transmission is supposed to be operating like that. It’s ridiculous how this dealership will lie right to your face, they sent me a video and stated in the video that the vehicle “shutters” between gears & that’s normal. What DePaula Chevrolet doesn’t know about it is an am a Marine Corps Veteran. While I served in the Corps I was a 3521, Diesel engine technician. Throughout my job as a Diesel engine technician I held a number of different positions to support the shop. One of these positions was Quality Control Chief, this is an area that I am most comfortable with in the maintenance world. How does someone have the gall to get on the phone with my and tell me there isn’t anything wrong!? I had a conversation with the customer service person and explained how I know there is a problem and I need it to get fixed. I even explained how to get the truck to slam down into gear! The customer service person was very combative with his approach, which I didn’t understand why. His job is to service customers…I’m the one paying thousands of dollars for a rental, I’m the one who paid $64,000 for the truck to have it break in 2 years, I’m the one being lied to. Needless to say, I stood my ground and demanded a re inspection of the transmission. 2 weeks later I get a call from DePaula again. The customer service person said there was no sigh of anything wrong with the truck once again!! This time the outcome was different, he was going to replace the valve body & start there to see what could be wrong. Why on earth would a dealership just start replacing parts that they had no idea were bad!? THEY DONT!! No mechanic shop ever had just replace a valve body because maybe it’s bad. Now it’s been a week and a half and I have still no expected completion date, more and more of my money being put into a rental car! I am truthfully excited to never have to do business with Chevrolet again, the only reason I am continuing the work is because it’s under warranty. More
