The paid inspection was done ok but the free recall they didn’t even look at it. Like we all have tons of free time to keep coming back to a dealer. didn’t even look at it. Like we all have tons of free time to keep coming back to a dealer. More

I've been bringing my VW to Dirito (and other mechanics) for repair over the years. Dirito Bros fixed my heater core (which was under warranty under a Technical Service Bulletin - but they didn't know and 1 for repair over the years. Dirito Bros fixed my heater core (which was under warranty under a Technical Service Bulletin - but they didn't know and 1st tried to quote me an expensive repair. During that visit they did work on the coolant system (part of the Heater Core repair) and flushed/drained the system. A few months later, I had a coolant leak, brought it back, and they said there were no leaks but perhaps they didn't add enough coolant due to an air bubble (they agreed not to charge me). 1 month later, I was leaking fluid in 2 locations, brought it back, and they quoted over $3,100 for repair and said it's a new issue not covered by the previous repair (which I contested). I brought the car to another VW service center and it was fixed for <$2,000. Sean and Kyle were communicative, but firm that this is a new issue for which I'd have to pay (no negotiation). When I returned to pick the car to bring it to another shop (with an hour's notice) the car was still on the lift and I waited nearly an hour for it to be ready. When I brought the car in they agreed to replace the dead fob battery for $10 and I gave the OK. I asked, nobody knew, then got a text the next day from Sean that it wasn't replaced. This dealership has good people, but their internal communication and exceedingly high pricing is a turn-off. There are other highly reputable repair companies locally - so do your homework. It's also cringeworthy (and they realize this) when Dirito Bros' service department makes it a point to know you're receiving a survey and they state it's really important to get all 5-star ratings - vs. asking for honest feedback so they can get better. I'd caution VW owners to think "caveat emptor" when deciding whom to entrust your VW service. Do your research. You'll find more reputable local firms that work on VW and other German vehicles and if you have the same experience I had, you won't add $1K or more to your already high frustration level. I understand Bay Area labor rates are high, but the $1K I saved was from a great repair shop in even pricier Lafayette. Good luck! More
From start to finish, buying here was an amazing, no pressure experience. Everyone that I spoke with at the dealership was friendly, flexible, and knowledgable. Ron in Sales and Eddie in Finance both ac pressure experience. Everyone that I spoke with at the dealership was friendly, flexible, and knowledgable. Ron in Sales and Eddie in Finance both acted as my guides through the process, and clearly put the customer first. They never made me feel like I'd be wasting their time if I didn't buy from them, and worked at my pace, not theirs. They were also honest and straightforward when discussing pros and cons, helping me navigate through the various options to find the ones that worked best for me. I feel lucky that they're my local dealer, and would definitely buy from them again. More
