As always, we had a very good experience having our car (one of many VW's that we've owned) serviced at Dirito Brothers Volkswagen. This review is for the sales/management/finance department at Walnut Creek. David Dirito contacted me with regards to a Costco Auto Program inquiry. David was able to confirm availability of department at Walnut Creek. David Dirito contacted me with regards to a Costco Auto Program inquiry. David was able to confirm availability of a 2024 Atlas and to arrange for a test drive. The weather was not the best at the time of the initial test drive, and the color and seat combination that I wanted to purchase was not available. However, we were able to agree upon an initial trade-in and finance plan and to locate the vehicle I wanted within half-an-hour. David was able to locate and have the vehicle prepped and ready for a test within 2 weeks. Between the test drive signing paper work, and getting a briefing on all the tech features, the whole process was about 2 hours—about one of the easiest car purchasing experiences I’ve had. Ironically, the only other time I was in and out of a dealership faster was purchasing another Volkswagen. More
We were asked to come without an appointment then all they did was a visual check. We thought it was a quick. We have to come all the way from Oakley. Then this young man in the reception was kind of ru they did was a visual check. We thought it was a quick. We have to come all the way from Oakley. Then this young man in the reception was kind of rude. He welcomed us with no greetings and he looks annoyed. Not a good representaive. I seldom go with my husband for the service- so frustrating! Two weeks ago, I brought my VW in for a 60K check. The service was about 900USD and everything was checked and okay. Two weeks later, I brought my car in to fix the front headlight that had gone out j The service was about 900USD and everything was checked and okay. Two weeks later, I brought my car in to fix the front headlight that had gone out just after the service. At the end of the day, at 4:50pm, I came to pick the car up and the service person informed me that, after replacing the bulb (for 1000USD) the mechanic who worked on the car had noticed that my water pump was leaking. The service person told me I could get it fixed for another 2000USD. He then, in addition to explaining to me the importance of the water pump, suggested I also get a carbon cleaning (not really sure where that suggestion came from) for another several hundred dollars. I am very disappointed in the service, for three reasons: 1) The service person said "we had to open up a lot of the engine compartments to get to the bulb, and while we had things opened, we noticed the water pump leaking". But the service person didn't text me or my wife when they found the leak and put everything back together. This then means it will take longer to replace the pump because VW have to "Open up" engine compartment again. The VW service person sent the text just after I arrived and the car had already been reassembled. What would have been more logical is calling us mid-day with a status report (while the car was opened up still) and letting us know about the second fuel pump issue, at which point we could have decided whether to fix this second issue. 2) I brought a car in for 60K maintenance check up, and a major component of the cooling system (water pump) was missed. 3) It's also concerning that, without hesitation, after quoting another 2000USD worth of work to install a new water pump, the service person threw in another service ("carbon cleaning") for another several hundred dollars in the same breath and without explanation. It makes it difficult to trust if the work is truly warranted. More
