Have always been courteous, friendly and honest. Have assisted resolving problems, even if the issue is beyond warranty. BTW, I selected good for the price, because I obviously would always prefer t assisted resolving problems, even if the issue is beyond warranty. This car was purchased out of state for us, and the dealer did not tell us up front that Inidana did NOT collect all of Ohio tax, therefore when we were discussing price, I thought it included everythi dealer did not tell us up front that Inidana did NOT collect all of Ohio tax, therefore when we were discussing price, I thought it included everything, but in fact we discovered we would have to pay an addition $700 for Ohio tax. I feel that he should have disclosed this at the time of price negotiation. I had an issue with the purchase contract after looking over it the next day. I realize it was my mistake not to review it in detail at the time of signing. The purchase price and the trade in price was not what we originally discussed. Although the out the door price was the same, the purchase price and the trade was raised $2032. Since Ohio tax is based on the purchase price, this caused us to owe additional Ohio sales tax. I called Bill to ask if he could have the buyers order changed showing the price that he originally quoted rather than the inflated price that they chose to use. I was told that it was a sign contract and they would do nothing. I was made to feel that I was asking them to do something illegal when I was just asking them to use the figures that we were originally quoted rater than their inflated price. When I asked why it was changed from what we originally discussed, he hung up on me!!!! Although I was upset about the situation, I was not rude or mean, I merely wanted a reason for the price change. I have purchased close to 20 Honda products over my lifetime and will continue to buy Honda as it is a solid, great vehicle. I will never again consider Don Ayres for a purchase. I see absolutely no reason for a salesman to hang up on a customer. More
Rick met us on site with a friendly, non-pushy attitude, asked what interest we had and calmly, warmly invited us to review several autos on the lot. One vehicle struck my fancy and he did not but encourag asked what interest we had and calmly, warmly invited us to review several autos on the lot. One vehicle struck my fancy and he did not but encourage me to know more about the car. An invitation to drive it was welcome and he accompanied me around the block. All the presentation impressed me and it was easy to enter into a discussion that resulted in a sale. Rick represented Don Ayres Honda in a professional manner. His style was pleasant but not overpowering, combining the "closing" that both the company and we expected. He is a credit to the sales staff, and I am pleased to recommend both he and Ayres to my friends. Rev. William E. D. Barlow 5217 Goldfinch Lane Fort Wayne, IN 46818 More
My dad and I were looking for a good, reliable used vehicle that was "stylish" for a 21 year old girl. We happened to stop at Don Ayers on our way home, and even though it was pretty close to closing t vehicle that was "stylish" for a 21 year old girl. We happened to stop at Don Ayers on our way home, and even though it was pretty close to closing time, Dave helped us out. Most dealers would be itching to get home, but Dave was so willing to help us, even at short notice. We found my car, and he was constantly available via email/call/text to answer any questions and keep us updated. He really helped me find a car that was a good fit in what I was looking for. If you're looking for a newer used car in good condition, Dave is the guy you want to go see. He will tell you everything you need to know, good and bad, and show you ALL of your options. Very happy with the service here! More
I am starting graduate school in the fall and need a reliable car to get me to and from school. I went on autotrader.com looking for a Honda Civic Si. I found one a Don Ayres and emailed the dealership reliable car to get me to and from school. I went on autotrader.com looking for a Honda Civic Si. I found one a Don Ayres and emailed the dealership on a Sunday night.I live out of town so email was the best way to communicate since I could not see the car in person. On Monday morning I had received an email from Dave Smith about the car. After sending a couple emails back and forth he had sent me a personalized video of the car and we had began discuss financing options. He gave me his cell phone number to make it easier to contact him since I was working with him. On the Saturday I was able to make it up to Fort Wayne and look at the car. This was the easiest purchase I have ever made. The dealership was very friendly and willing to work with my situation. I would recommend this dealership to anyone. I would also recommend working with Dave Smith. More
Doug Settle always makes me feel like I am the only client he has that day. I actually look forward to going to get my car serviced! He does a nice job of demanding such service through his employees a client he has that day. I actually look forward to going to get my car serviced! He does a nice job of demanding such service through his employees as well. There is no question that besides Honda reliability, Doug and his team are the main reasons we buy new Hondas at Don Ayres. Keep up the great work !!! More
I have been taking my Honda (previously my 1981 Prelude, now my 2001Accord) to Don Ayres since the mid 1990's, when I moved to the area. As a female, I have always been treated with respect. They are and now my 2001Accord) to Don Ayres since the mid 1990's, when I moved to the area. As a female, I have always been treated with respect. They are and always have been good listeners and helpful. On my most recent visit, I was having an issue with my new cell phone, not ringing. Concerned about receiving a call from the service department, I asked Mr. Suter for assistance. He figured it out and adjusted my phone to ring. They certainly are not in the business of cell phones but they have always been kind and helpful with me. I also use the shuttle service (free) that they offer while my vehicle is being serviced. This really helps me out when leaving my car so I can accomplish other things (usually attending classes at Ivy Tech or IPFW). I always allow more time than I need when using that service during busy times of the day (especially first thing or toward the end of the day) so that I can get to where I need to go on time. That is a very small "price" to pay for the ability to get around! More
Abu Sesay was the first salesman to greet us out on the lot on Saturday. Abu was the most friendly salesman I've met, he's so genuine. A lot of the salesman I've spoke with throughout my lifetime are very lot on Saturday. Abu was the most friendly salesman I've met, he's so genuine. A lot of the salesman I've spoke with throughout my lifetime are very pushy. I'm in sales, so I know what it's like. But you have to be able to find that fine line to ride on between being a salesman and being genuine. Abu Sesay knew his vehicles and I was so relieved to get to work with him throughout my car buying experience. Abu is so funny and down to earth. I can tell he really cares about his customers and he isn't your typical salesman. He asked us to call or text him when we arrived home in our new vehicles. We visited the dealership on a Saturday and came back on Wednesday to purchase two vehicles from Abu. On Saturday Abu mentioned texting him my car information in order for them to get ahead on the car buying process. I don't know very many salesman who will willing tell you to text them on their days off to do work. HE WAS GREAT!!!! I will go back to this dealership. I will trade my car back in with them. And I will highly recommend this dealership and ABU SESAY! He is a very well-rounded guy! Jami was a doll. She was so knowledgable. And really made you feel at home. HANDS DOWN THE BEST DEALERSHIP I'VE BEEN TO. More
I normally love working with Don Ayres. But since the scheduling process has changed (it appears to me that it has been outsourced), I am not happy with the appointment process.I came in for an oil chang scheduling process has changed (it appears to me that it has been outsourced), I am not happy with the appointment process.I came in for an oil change and tire rotation. I have been hearing an odd noise and asked for them to take a look at it. I was told it would take several hours and I did not have that kind of time to wait on that day. In the meantime, I had some medical issues and have been off work and unable to drive. I called today for an 'appointment' to have the car looked at and am told I cannot get it in until Thursday. This doesn't seem to me that this is offering excellent service. I should be able to get my car in for a serious sounding problem in less than three days. So, I have rated my service as 'good' because there was no accommodation from the dealership to get my car in for an evaluation in a timely manner. And I hate the new appointment process. More
We love the service dept. at Don Ayres! They are honest- not just looking for things to charge you to fix when you go in. However, we were completely disappointed with the sales end. We recently got a g not just looking for things to charge you to fix when you go in. However, we were completely disappointed with the sales end. We recently got a great deal on our new car, but were offered an offensively low price for our trade-in. We had done a great deal of research on how much the car was worth (trade in value) and how much it was selling for at area dealerships so we had a very reasonable range in mind. They offered us thousandS below trade in value and were not honest about a variety of things in the process. The issues were resolved finally, but we left feeling like it was an unpleasant experience. I was completely disappointed since our last purchase at Don Ayres 7 years ago was great! Since our purchase 2 weeks ago, I have run into two other friends who have recently had the same issue there. If you are planning on trading a car, do your research about the car's value and be prepared to be firm. Also, don't be caught off guard with an offensively low offer on a trade in. * The "OK" rating for price was given because of the price value on the trade-in. The purchase price on our new vehicle was "great" More
