I purchased a lease for a Rav4 back in December. It has been almost a month and my trade has NOT been paid off, and my new lease has NOT been funded. We all know that buying a car can be a stressful process, but Findlay Toyota seems to have ironed out all the kinks and quirks of purchasing a new or used car. I worked with a gentleman named Tommy Win who helped me from start to finish. One thing I would like to say about Tommy is that he seems to go above and beyond what is necessary for his customers. There was a strong appreciation that I had for his commitment to his job and his customers, and his ability to ultimately enhance the experience of purchasing a vehicle. ...and on top of that! All the support staff from the finance department, the administrative department, the service department, and the additional team of sales staff members who reached out to help (shot out to Patrick Huynh!)..these guys and girls couldn't have been more helpful. They obviously play a fundamental part in the sales process, and it's safe to say my interaction with each of these departments added value to my car buying experience. Parts Dept......I recently broke a exterior plastic piece on my Tacoma. I looked up the part number and saw that Toyota had a MSRP of $196 for it. Since we are in a "Hard time right now", I decided to buy locally, so I contacted Findlay Toyota, Parts Dept. and was told the price was $218 plus tax.....($18 more than the MSRP). I decided just to go get the part and be finished with the project. I drove to Findlay Toyota and contacted the girl behind the parts counter. She stated the part was now $236, plus tax. I told her of my previous inquiry and Toyota's MSRP, and asked why the price kept going up. She replied, " We are independently owned & operated, we can charge what we want"..I stood there, and just shook my head from side to side, then I turned and walked out. I am aware that during tough times Car dealers turn to their Service & Parts Departments to make up the differences in lost sales....But "WOW"! More
