Hagerstown Honda

Estimate on work that is totally unnecessary I brought my Honda Element in to Hagerstown Honda for the airbag recall, and asked them to replace the rear brake backing plates. I left a list of some other minor things that needed to be done and had my phone number at the top of the page. At the end of the day, when I went back to get my truck, the service rep said he had tried calling me all day. He wasn't able to because, instead of using the phone number I had left with them, he called an old work number. They did the airbag and a few other things, but did not replace the backing plates. Then I was told that the truck needed major suspension work and the estimate was over $3000. They also recommended that various fluids (rear differential, brake fluid, etc.) be changed and the estimate for that was $1000. I thought those estimates were high, but being a dealer, I wasn't surprised. I then took my truck to my local mechanic (one whom I have dealt with and trusted for many years). This mechanic said there was "absolutely nothing wrong with the suspension" and that even the backing plates would last another year or so. He did replace all the fluids and the total cost was $166. Yes - One Hundred and Sixty Six dollars! So I went from an estimate of over $4000 down to less than $200. Hagerstown Honda's service department is disreputable and I believe sexist. I've read other reviews that confirm my opinion. I just tried to call the dealership and did not even get an answer. I will not be dealing with Hagerstown Honda any more and would strongly discourage anyone from taking their vehicles there for service. More

I was surprised to find that all salesmen are not the same. i dont think you could find a more honest and concerned person. i would highly recommend him to buy from at this dealer. he gave us the second best offer out of six dealers. Best Car Buying Experience I Have Ever Had!! I test drove a CR-V on Friday and spoke with Nate and Dave about the price and deal I could get on the vehicle. I did not feel pressured in anyway when asking questions and they understood that I was doing my research about the vehicles. We wanted to give our local dealership a chance to see what they could do. After being told at 3pm on a Saturday that we would have to come back Monday to buy the car we decided to come back to Hagerstown Honda. I had the other dealers price, which he said was the truecar.com price. He said it didn't get any better than the truecar.com price and it was a special price they were giving us. When we got back to Hagerstown I approached Dave and told him which car we were looking and without seeing the competitors price he beat it by over $300. By the time we got to Hagerstown they were an hour away from closing time, so based on our previous experience I asked if we would have to come back on Monday and Dave said, "No, you are taking your new car home tonight." So in less than 1 hour we had all the apps done, paper work signed, and Nate showed us all the features and even customized all the settings to our likings. We had never purchased a Honda before and based on this experience we will definitely be visiting Hagerstown Honda the next time we are in the market for a new vehicle. I also recommend asking for Nate Janes when you go to visit them. More
