Help for my fathers lease My father who is 96 and a WW2 veteran was recently diagnosed with a serious illness and unfortunately will not be able to drive in the future. He had My father who is 96 and a WW2 veteran was recently diagnosed with a serious illness and unfortunately will not be able to drive in the future. He had a year remaining on the lease of his 2017 Civic and when we contacted Honda Financial to discuss options, they were incredibly insensitive and reinforced that he owes the remaining payments and they could/would take legal action to ensure they are paid. I was amazed that they had no sympathy for a WW2 veteran, honored with 2 purple hearts, who had been a life long Honda customer never missing a payment or even late and the car had less than 6,000 miles on it. They suggested I contact the dealer, but warned me they probably would not want to assume the car because they could lose money if they try to sell it. I spoke to John McGraw from Honda Universe who was extremely sympathetic regarding our situation and after meeting with John, he committed to assume the car and I was able to drop it off the following day. John couldn't have been more caring and understanding with helping my father and we are very appreciative of his help. This is how you take care of a customer and ensure future good will. New Car This was my first time buying a car. I was a little nervous at first, hearing all of the stereotypical salesmen stories. Luckily, I got to work with This was my first time buying a car. Neil was great and nothing like the stereotypical salesman I was expecting. I really felt like Neil cared about getting me the best deal for a car I really wanted. He took a lot of time answering all of my questions and showing me all of the features for the car I wound up getting. I love my new Honda HRV. Thanks Neil and Honda!
