Brand new accord. The issue was with warping and melting of mirrors and side panels a few months after buying the car and it's parked in the driveway 80 to 90% of the The issue was with warping and melting of mirrors and side panels a few months after buying the car and it's parked in the driveway 80 to 90% of the time (work from home). No issues with the other cheaper car in the same driveway previously. After bringing it to service dept attention, waited approx 3 weeks with no reply (Feb 21 to March 15), guess they were hoping I'd just not follow up. When they did reply, the service guy said it was a known issue, must have come from reflected sunlight and honda would not fix it. This was after he and his manager (per the service guy) said they had never seen this issue before when it was initially mentioned and that they would take pictures and send to higher authority to get approval. A known sun issue, but the service department hadn't seen it before in Florida!!, Seriously? He said he could give me Honda's CA number if I wanted to follow up and see if I could get better results. When I called the number it wasn't even for Honda is was for Assurant. They were like, yeah not our issue thanks for calling. We switched to Honda because we thought we were getting a better-quality car and that they would stand behind their product and this is what we are getting. Why did we spend more for a Honda??? They didn't even try to meet us in the middle (or anywhere for that matter) to keep a new customer happy and loyal. Now I'm looking at $1,500 in repairs on a brand new car. Guess the good stories we heard from friends were when either the cars or service were better in the past? Wife was thinking of buying another car too, guess we'll go to Toyota or somewhere else. It's too bad I liked the car otherwise. More
