Darryl Clark was our salesperson. He was knowledgeable, friendly and patient with my daughter and I. Darryl listened to us and appeared to truly want to deliver a vehicle that met, or exceeded, our expect friendly and patient with my daughter and I. Darryl listened to us and appeared to truly want to deliver a vehicle that met, or exceeded, our expectations in every facet. Others were helpful, as well. One salesperson happened to walk by and upon hearing a question my daughter posed to me, stopped and provided the answer that I could not have. The entire experience, including the cleanliness and "orderliness" of the facility were impressive and helped us in concluding that we had made the right decision in coming to St. Augustine Hyundai. He initially contacted him via the internet. His service was expedient and to the point. He was professional and his attention to detail was superb! He made car buying easy and non-stressful. The financial official (Mr Eddie) was also part of our great experience. He explained the benefits of financing through Hyundai and therefore helped save us a lot of money. I will definitely recommend this dealership to friends and family. More
To say that I am dissatisfied with my experience would not do justice to exactly how unhappy I am with this dealership. I have been in the market for a used Hyundai Sonata for quite some time now, and in not do justice to exactly how unhappy I am with this dealership. I have been in the market for a used Hyundai Sonata for quite some time now, and in particular there had been two Sonata’s at this dealership that caught my eye. After shopping in the time frame of a week at a few other dealerships to see what inventory was around, I notified the sales consultant I was working with, Charles, that one of the two Sonata’s I would like to test drive and work out a deal to purchase the vehicle that next day. I live in Fernandina Beach, which is about an hour and a half away from the dealership. I got halfway to St. Augustine and received a phone call from Charles stating that the particular Sonata I was coming to test drive had sold the night before. I had a bad taste in my mouth when I heard this since I had spent a good bit of money in gas and putting wear and tear on my vehicle to make it to this dealership that morning, but I bit the bullet and turned around to go home. Then yesterday, I spoke with Charles about the other Sonata that I was originally looking at and it was confirmed they still had it available. I gave him notice that since I was working that day, I would be in the next day to purchase the vehicle, no questions asked. Charles said “Okay, see you on Sunday!” Again, I drove down with both of my parents with me as well to St. Augustine and was at the dealership 45 minutes after they opened. Looking around the lot, Charles was nowhere to be found. That is when Gordon approached us and I asked where he may be, which he then informed us that it was Charles’ day off. I called Charles to confirm this and his excuse offered was “I did say that, but we were so busy I misspoke as I am off today.” The Sonata I came to look at was nowhere to be found in the pre-owned section of the lot. Come to find out it was actually moved to the front of the dealership and was being showed to another group of people. This irritated me as I gave Charles notice that I was coming shortly after open to purchase the vehicle. I was told by Gordon that we could sit tight until the people either decided against buying the vehicle or stepped aside for a test drive, but if they decided to purchase the vehicle, it was theirs. I began to explain my utter concern and disbelief that I was not informed that if I wanted the vehicle to be held, I would have needed to put a down payment on it. This was not offered to me on Saturday when I spoke with Charles about the car. At this point, both of my parents and are explaining the aggravation and concern we have for the lack of information we were given, especially after we had made the long drive to the dealership. Gordon kept saying: “Well it’s not my fault.” He never apologized for the confusion of the situation and eventually walked off saying: “I’m not dealing with this.” Shortly after Gordon left, James came out to speak to us and we explained our issue that we were having to him as well. Again, never received any apologies on the confusion. He confronted me about the validity of whether or not I “was’ or “wasn’t” going to purchase the vehicle today, and I confirmed to him that if the trade value they had given me during an earlier visit was still good, no questions I would buy the car. He quickly retorted my statement with “Were you the kid that said Orange Park would give you more for your trade? And it fell through didn’t it?” I am 21 years old, and although I may be young, I am not a “kid” and I am seriously looking to make a purchase. Another dealership HAD offered me more for my trade, but I felt that the deal at Hyundai Of St. Augustine would have suited my needs better even with a lower trade value for my car. Ultimately the experience ended up with my parents and I leaving the dealership very unhappy. It seems that not a single person, including the used car manager was able to offer an apology and a solution to our situation. We received quite a bit of attitude from both Gordon and James today which was very rude and only made the situation worse. I would never recommend this dealership to anyone that I know. I’ve wasted so much time and gas trying to make a purchase at this dealership and have gotten nothing positive in return. More
From the time this dealership has opened, I've found it offering customers the very best sales and service experiences imaginable. I've now bought four different Hyundai vehicles (for different reasons it offering customers the very best sales and service experiences imaginable. I've now bought four different Hyundai vehicles (for different reasons and uses) from this dealership, and enthusiastically recommended it to friends who have also bought vehicles there, and they, too, have been amazed at how well they were treated. This is what a car dealership *should* be like (and, sadly, rarely is), and I sincerely hope the owners can maintain that high standard of customer service---and friendliness---as their business grows. We traded in our Accent for an Elantra and Joseph Cassata was awesome! We bought our Accent from him in 2011 and that is why we called him again. He is very knowledgable, friendly, and extrememly hardworking. We were late for our appointment and he couldn't have been more understanding and patient. He explained everything to us throughout the entire process and would make sure and take the time if we had any questions or concerns. Not once did we ever feel pressured. I could have purchased any Dodge/Jeep through the family employee discount program, but we chose Hyundai of St. Augustine because of the great cars, deals, and service that they offer. We even have a Hyundai dealer a few miles down the road from our home but we make the 30+ mile drive just because the service is that great!! I feel that Dealer Rater should have a 10 point system for this dealership alone we are that happy with our purchases/service!!! More

Confusion caused by my insurance co. and their windshield installer, delayed the repair. Hyundai acted in my behalf watching the quality of the work and provided a loaner Equus for several days at no charge until the job was completed correctly. Hyundai had to make 2 repairs to the washer and blower systems caused my insurance cos. windshield repairer's poor workmanship which only came to light several days after the windshield was replaced .
