Jaguar Land Rover Flatirons responded

In your review you stated that the “service was terrible”, yet this was not the feedback that was provided during the repair process. We did have an appointment set for you to perform the recall, which would have been handled by a different level technician than a coolant concern. This is why there was a delay in getting the LR4 into the workshop for the initial diagnosis. Some important facts, in this case, are not included in your review. When your guys called in with the coolant concern and we advised you not to drive the Land Rover and have it towed, it was stated by the person calling that you had already added 1.5 gallons of coolant, and had driven the vehicle a “short distance” to Silverthorne. The Land Rover LR4 has a total coolant capacity is 2.8 gallons, you guys stated you added 1.5 gallons, and when the LR4 arrived at our workshop, a Land Rover Certified Technician performed the initial diagnosis and there was no coolant present in the system. The recommendations were sent over, approved, and the Land Rover Certified Technician performed the repairs and pressure-tested the system overnight, with no signs of leaking down. The LR4 was then driven over our test drive route, which is approximately 3.8 miles, and it was performing as designed at that time with no concerns present. If it had not been, we would have recommended further diagnosis or repairs as our business is repairing Land Rovers. When the vehicle was towed back in, it had been driven approximately 21.8 miles (if the LR4 began overheating at ten miles as you stated in your review, then it was driven hot for the second time for approximately 11.8 miles) and towed in at our expense. Upon the arrival of the LR4, we found that the thermostat had failed, and once we replaced the thermostat, the LR4 was still running hot. The LR4 was then further diagnosed by a Land Rover Master Technician, who has been with Land Rover for 29 years (Please Note: To maintain Land Rover Certification, you must work at a Land Rover Dealership. If you do not, your Land Rover certifications are not valid, and you do not have the latest training and quarterly requirements to maintain certification). The Land Rover Master Technician checked all the work that was previously performed, and found all work completed to Land Rover specifications. Upon further diagnosis, the Land Rover Master Technician found the failure of the head gaskets. All of the prior work was done correctly, and you simply a failure of the head gaskets, likely caused by them being weakened when the LR4 was driven without coolant before it was towed into our workshop initially.
