I dealt with Steve through e-mail only, after I initiated an internet price request from their dealer inventory. The price quoted was hundreds below invoice for a leftover 2013 model year, but that’s where an internet price request from their dealer inventory. The price quoted was hundreds below invoice for a leftover 2013 model year, but that’s where my good experience ended. Upon inquiry, as well as quotes from nearby dealers, the price Steve had given me was non-negotiable. Not a big deal, considering it was a fair quote to begin with. As a result, I decided I wanted to take a further look at the vehicle in person, but decided I would do most of the negotiation via e-mail since I was hours away from the dealership. When inquiring about my trade-in, I was quoted a price thousands below popular sites such as KBB, Edmunds, and NADA. Upon further conversation, I was told they base their prices off of a black book pricing site called Galves. For $5 I was able to look up the price of my car (something I highly recommend you consider), the same price Steve had presumably looked at himself. What I discovered was Steve had quoted me $6,000 below the fair market value for my car! No wonder they were able to provide me with a price quote of hundreds below invoice, as they were prepared to make up the difference 10 fold on my trade-in. When I brought this to Steve’s attention he chose to ignore me; truly a professional move. Looking at their pre-owned inventory online, filled with vehicles presumably acquired on a trade-in, I discovered prices on average of $5,000 above the Galves price book value for vehicles similar to my own. Now, don’t get me wrong, I do not have a problem with this mark-up, as they are in the business of dealing cars, however, to quote me $6,000 below the Galves value is an insult. That puts their profit margin at over 100% if they were to successfully sell my trade-in for list. To each their own, but I would avoid this dealer at all costs, especially if you have a trade-in. Steve is an amateur con artist, and I cannot imagine he is in the minority at Liberty Subaru. More

(Not to mention that I just purchased a 2014 Subaru Legacy from Jeff Miletta. I have owned a 1986, 1997, 1999, 2006 and now this new 2014 Subaru!! (Not to mention that my husband owned a 2006 Tribecca) Jeff has always sold us our cars throughout the years. Bob Osterloff has always been in charge of servicing our cars. I was dreading car shopping and having to deal with pushy salesmen. I was SO lucky to meet Jeff Miletta, at Liberty Subaru on in Emerson, NJ. He is as nice, honest, knowledgeable and helpful as can be. He salesmen. I was SO lucky to meet Jeff Miletta, at Liberty Subaru on in Emerson, NJ. He is as nice, honest, knowledgeable and helpful as can be. He knows the models and options inside out and clearly let me know how I could get what I wanted, but not what I didn’t need, to save money. He set up test drives, of both new and used, very quickly to make shopping efficient. Price negotiations were transparent, fair, and the best deal in the tri-state area. His follow-up was complete and when promised. I went to several dealers and Jeff at Liberty was the best of the bunch. More

For a dealer service center their pricing is good and their attentiveness to detail high. The staff is friendly and accommodations are good. Loaners are available with advance reservations. Mr Quinn assisted my 76 year old mother in choosing her new Subaru.She hadn't purchased a car in about 14 years. He was patient and informative. During our price discovery Tom was knowledgeable and willing to work with us. Hard sell tactics did not exist. When we found comfortable price, the purchase went smoothly. The finance manager Tom Porter was also very pleasant to deal with, again with no pressure for added items. Upon delivery Tom spent time with Mom to be sure she was comfortable and confident in her new Subaru. Liberty Subaru is the place to go for great sales people and management. Mom and I would highly recommend Tom Quinn and Liberty Subaru for a very satisfying car purchasing experience. More
