I was in the market for a used (2-3 year old) F150 with some specific options and looked into some interesting choices. But found that Lombard Ford had stock that came close to what I wanted, so I went to some specific options and looked into some interesting choices. But found that Lombard Ford had stock that came close to what I wanted, so I went to visit. It’s a small, “rural” dealership. The atmosphere was a little restricted due to Covid, as you would expect. But they have a good eye for finding, preparing and presenting well maintained used vehicles (at least what I looked at). This truck is CPO… it shows well and I’m pretty confident that it has been thoroughly inspected and maintenance is up to date. As some have commented, Lombard’s price is a bit high and they presented the vehicle as a no-haggle price. But once beyond that, it was a no-pressure, friendly and helpful purchase. I was originally planning to do a trade with my high miles Tacoma (with issues), but I found that CarMax, AutoNation and Vroom all offered substantially higher (minimum of 14% more) outright purchase price. It made shuffling vehicles a little more difficult but economically worth selling the Tacoma to CarMax…we’ve sold 4 vehicles in recent years to CarMax and those transactions have been financially rewarding and stressless (though Covid made the process a little different this time). Barbara Dew did a great job presenting their vehicle as well as providing and ultimately coordinating several options of how best to manage the logistics of picking up the truck and getting it home (2 hours away). She also made sure I’m comfortable with the vehicle before and after I left and did a nice job of keeping in touch as I asked questions during my decision process. More
