Not worth the price I have always taken my vehicle to Maple Hill (although for some reason, they seemed to be under the impression that it was the first time they've seen I have always taken my vehicle to Maple Hill (although for some reason, they seemed to be under the impression that it was the first time they've seen my 2009 Forester - even though they've seen it many times). I brought the car in for an oil change, an exhaust check, and to diagnose an unusual noise. First of all, the diagnoses for the exhaust & odd noise were two separate charges of $125 each. $250 just to diagnose the problems. The noise was my rear brakes. I was told the pads & rotors needed to be replaced. Fine. About an hour later, they called to tell me a caliper also needed to be replaced. Did the mechanic NOT notice that originally, or did he damage the caliper himself? I have no way to know - so I agreed. Another $240. Multiple other repairs that were discovered during inspection. Total bill $1,257. The exhaust (after the $125 diagnosis) ended up requiring a full replacement of the pipe between the catalytic converter and the mufflers. Quoted $2,200. I didn't have $2,200 to spend at that point - so I declined. I took the car to a muffler/brake shop on my way home from Maple Hill. They gave me a FREE estimate (no $125 diagnosis charge) for just over $500. I know they won't be using OEM parts - but I could literally have that work done 4 times over - and still spend less than I would at Maple Hill. And lastly, some oil was apparently dripped on my heat shield during one of the repairs. I understand. It's not a big deal. They warned me about it when I picked up the car. But two days later, my car still smells like burning oil. So suffice it to say, I didn't have a very good experience with Maple Hill - and I would not recommend them. I do appreciate their thoroughness in their 19-point inspections - but I'm not sure that's worth the cost anymore. More
