This is the fourth car my wife and I have purchased with Barry and MB of Hagerstown. HIs prompt, professional, no nonsense approach always makes the car buying experience exceptional. After finding a car Barry and MB of Hagerstown. HIs prompt, professional, no nonsense approach always makes the car buying experience exceptional. After finding a car I was interested in on the internet; I had all the information that I needed to make a purchase decision after a few email exchanges with Barry and all of this within a couple of hours. Barry even came in to the dealership on his scheduled day off just to make sure our test drive went well and to answer any questions we might have. After deciding to purchase; Barry made sure everyone had all of the necessary information and paperwork so the "trip" to the finance office would go smoothly. Both Barry and Rob took their time to explain all of the little details on the financing, title and registration paperwork. They both asked several times if we had any questions about the documents we were signing. Finally, in the delivery area Barry took the time to point out some of the different features between this car and our previous cars and to pair both of our bluetooth phones with the car. Barry also made sure we had all of his latest contact information and told us to call any time with questions……..and I knew from previous experience he really meant it! It is so nice to have found a dealership that treats you with honesty and respect throughout the car buying process. More

A few months ago, I indicated to Barry London an interest in a pre-owned S-Class. Barry alerted me to one that came in. We looked at it, came to a deal on my trade-in and bought it. Barry is knowledgeable in a pre-owned S-Class. Barry alerted me to one that came in. We looked at it, came to a deal on my trade-in and bought it. Barry is knowledgeable of the Mercedes product line and the intricacies of how they work. Delivery was not rushed, there was ample time to answer my questions. Hagerstown is the nearest Mercedes dealer (70 miles from us), and their service assistance is exceptional, hence a big part of our interest in dealing with them. More

I bought a used 2006 MB C280 from Mercedes Benz of Hagerstown, not my first MB, my third. For a woman, or any one really, I am pretty knowledgeable about cars. I have read many of the other reviews, a Hagerstown, not my first MB, my third. For a woman, or any one really, I am pretty knowledgeable about cars. I have read many of the other reviews, and I do not disagree. Mike makes you feel like a friend, someone you have known for a long time. It is what makes him a good SALESman. I am a single lady who passed through Hagerstown. I was driving a compact rental car, and I needed a car, so I dropped into MB of Hagerstown to see what they had. Mike greeted me warmly with a smile and made me feel welcome. He sized me up pretty quickly. I am not rich or pompous, and I drive a used Benz because of its overall solid quality, low maintenance, and safety. My first Benz was a 1985 300CD with over 300,000 miles on it. My second was a C230 Kompressor 6 speed manual-beauty. Intuitively, I knew I should not buy a car in Hagerstown; it is 670 miles from home. I would be in quite a pickle if I was not satisfied. While test-driving the vehicle, I noticed several issues-the inside passenger door handle was broken, the car handled with a roughness that should not have been there, the gear shift/center console was loose and sliding, there were stains on the seat belts; when I mentioned these things to Mike he said I was being "nit-picky." He said the seats were leather-they are not they are MB Tex. I knew the difference but second-guessed myself because he assured me the seats were leather. I realized he knew nothing about the mechanics of the car when I asked about the engine and the suspension. When I asked about the car having been checked out by MB-Hagerstown and certified, Mike said it was too old and had too many miles. I should have walked away and never come back. I did walk away and continued shopping elsewhere. Mike was persistent and phoned and texted me at least a dozen times over the next 24 hours. To get rid of him I told him I had bought another car elsewhere, his texted response was "not cool." I went back on Monday, anyway, (Columbus Day) out of desperation more than necessity. Mike again was warm and friendly. Within a few minutes of my arrival he told me it was a "five car day." I knew what he meant, and I definitely did not need to know that I was a number for the day. While sitting at his desk he volunteered that one of the five customers was actually buying 2 cars-I really felt small then, as I could barely afford one car and a used one with nearly 100,000 miles on it. He was preparing for his other customer's arrival by putting out their box of chocolate and their keys. The box of chocolate was delightful and so were the two leather-like key chains. There were many flags that I should run, not walk away, nonetheless, I bought the car because I felt small, desperate, and obligated not because I loved the car. Once I left, I was driving on the highway and the vibration was still there. I turned around to go back to the dealership. I chickened out and turned back around. The seat was so uncomfortable that I had intolerable pain in my right hip and leg. (No, this is not usual). One of the key fobs was completely dead which shows a lack of attention to detail on the dealer's part. I e-mailed Mike the issues (written with great anguish and pain). I asked Mike if we could cancel the transaction. His response, "have a nice day." Once back in my home state I had the car checked out, my mechanic gave the car a thumbs up except that there were no service records and the car needed $300 worth of work-cam shaft plugs and the crank shaft ventilation valve were leaking. I also went to an upholstery shop to attempt to remedy the intolerable seat. He gave me a piece of memory foam to sit on to determine if this was helpful. I phoned the dealership and asked to speak with the sales manager. The receptionist connected me to his voice mail, though she did not tell me he was off. Needless to say I did not hear back from him. I phoned again the next day, I spoke with someone else who said he would make sure Rob called me back. When I finally spoke with Rob, he spoke with his manager, called me back, and said the car could be exchanged within 10 days for something else on the lot. The transaction could not be cancelled. Rob knew well that there was nothing else on the lot that I could afford let alone wanted and the the dubiousness of me driving another 1300 miles round trip. I did the drive, made it 500 miles and turned around. I called Rob again, left a message and never heard a word back. The GM has e-mailed me a form letter. He clearly does not know nor care that I am not pleased. I am stuck with an intolerably uncomfortable car and deep regret. More
