Mr. Rawcliffe, As Wil had explained to you when you were in for your oil level check, we do not see the vehicle on a regular basis for oil changes. The first time we saw the car was in June of 2017 at 19,872 miles when we did an oil change. The next oil change done by us was in June of 2018 at 31,271 miles and at your request, we suggested the car be brought back in 1,200 miles to check the oil level. In August of 2018 at 33,232miles we checked the oil level and it was at the fill mark at that point so we did not have to adjust the level. In September of 2018 we did recheck the oil level again at 34,643miles and again, the oil level was within the acceptable range and we did not adjust it. We did not see the vehicle again until 43,413miles at which time we did an oil change and requested you to bring the vehicle back in 1,200 miles to recheck the oil level as you felt it was burning oil. When you brought it in at 44,816 miles the oil level was still at the fill level. We cannot confirm that the vehicle is losing oil as you do not service the vehicle regularly with us and we cannot verifiy if another shop is filling the oil to the correct level. We also cannot confirm what type of oil they are using. We are not trying to "cover" anything up but rather we are not able to duplicate an issue with your vehicle. There would be no reason for us to not fix the car if there were an issue as it would be work for our technicians. If you would like to discuss this further, please contact me at 267-956-1160.
