We have a Honda and a VW in our household and the VW maintenance Is at least twice as expensive as the Honda. $400 to change a battery is ludicrous just because VW has some coding that has to be added. More

Hello Dan, I completely understand your frustration when a simple task like replacing a battery becomes complicated due to specialized programming. VW’s electrical system, like many modern vehicles, uses variable charging. There’s a control module that adjusts the alternator’s output based on the battery’s charge state and health. If the battery control module isn't re-programmed, it can continue charging at an excessive rate, leading to premature failure. That being said, the battery you purchased from us comes with a lifetime replacement warranty. This will be the last battery you'll need to purchase for your VW! We truly value your business and appreciate your feedback.
