This was our first visit to Royal Moore Subaru, and it was a great experience all around. We had a simple warranty repair which they took care of in one visit. I was really impressed with the 2-wk post delivery follow-up appointment with Emmylea to make sure everything was working well, that I was familiar with all the accessories, systems, etc., and to answ follow-up appointment with Emmylea to make sure everything was working well, that I was familiar with all the accessories, systems, etc., and to answer any questions I had about the above, In 50+ years of buying cars, I've never had a dealership provide such great customer service before, during, and after I took delivery of my car! Horrible sales experience! Don't go here to buy a car! If this was just about the service department, I'd give a 5 stars. I've been a long time customer there - I bought my 2013 Outback there and had a great this was just about the service department, I'd give a 5 stars. I've been a long time customer there - I bought my 2013 Outback there and had a great experience, and I took my Outback there for nearly 100% of all its service needs since 2013. Just recently the transmission started to go, so I asked to meet with someone from sales as I'd preferred to get a new subaru with the high reliability and sell my old one. Right out the gate, the salesperson started with a "Well, we can't do much for you on your 2013 subaru" - he didn't ask what I wanted to buy, whether I already had a loan lined up, he didn't even ask my name or say hello! He barely even looked at me or greeted me. Then he went on to offer me $250 for my 2013 subaru! Even with a need for transmission work that was just an insulting number. Fine, I figured, so they don't want my trade in. I didn't even bother talking him out of it, I just said, "I know that's not right, if you don't want my old one just say so! The important thing is I want a new car!" But then he kept talking about how my old car has "some problem, I'm not even sure what kind of repair it needs," he said. So I gave the guy a softball and finally said, "hey, can you stop insulting my old car? I asked to talk to sales because I'm interested in buying a new car." And then he just couldn't get off subject and said, "Well, we can't really give you much for your old one" and then I said "Ok! But I'm here to talk about buying a new car!" Finally he pointed at the Outback Wilderness trim model on the showroom floor and was like, "Well, we've got this one, and I could take $250 off the list price." He still didn't ask me what I wanted, what trim, nothing! So I just said, "You know what, I'm just not feeling working with you. I bought from you all in 2013 because the salesperson read me right: he knew I had a sense of what I wanted, he asked me questions, he offered a few options and didn't mess around." Then the sales guy says, "Oh, well, ok, but just wait here I'll get someone else" and he walked away! The whole interaction was over in less than 2 minutes, no exaggeration. I've lived long enough to know that if I'm going to spend close to $40k on anything, I am not going to do it somewhere that treats me so poorly. What could possibly have been motivating such terrible engagement? I don't know what happened at Royal Moore, but they've failed miserably and lost a long time customer. Not only did I buy my old car from them, I spent thousands on regular service there over the past 8 years. The worst part is no one followed up when I emailed them to share the experience I'd had. I hope Subaru national puts some pressure on Royal Moore to improve service here. I'm not a hard person to please, pretty easy going, and don't write this lightly. If you want to be treated like a human when you buy a car, don't go here. More
