Went in to negotiate a purchase of a 2024 used truck. Salesman showed me the total asking price of truck along with the amount they would give me for my trade-in. There was a $895 fees for their Total Ca Salesman showed me the total asking price of truck along with the amount they would give me for my trade-in. There was a $895 fees for their Total Care Package for used vehicles. I told salesman I didn’t want their Care Package because the truck still had manufacturer’s warranty due to its age and mileage. I also didn’t agree with the trade-in value so salesman went to talk to his boss to renegotiate trade-in value. Came back with a little more in trade value but still had that $895 dealership warranty that I told him I didn’t want or need. I asked him to take that off the price and he said if I wanted the new trade value I had to buy their $895 warranty. I walked out because I believe this is either illegal or should be illegal to force their customers to buy an unneeded warranty just to get the dealership an extra $895 dollars. If not downright illegal, I consider this highly unethical and really bad business practice. Beware of the fees this dealership adds in to the price of a used vehicle they try to sell you. More
