I purchased a used vehicle as is and i know there were 2 engine trouble codes for the o2 sensors, however after a scan and after driving the vehivle, several more major problems were discovered. I have to shift into nuetral so it will start about 50% of the time due to bad neutral safety switch, and MAP sensor neened to be replaced, and with the o2 sensor problem the gas milage is about 10 miles per gal. the ABS hade to be cleared by some diagnostics and testing. I didnt expect this much non-disclosed trouble from a major dealer. I paid too much and will need to pay about 1.5K to get the vehicle totally fixed. More

It was better under Jerry Damson's ownership. The added 3% service fee even for debit card purchases, when they don't charge any fee for a check is a cheap and underhanded way to make a few more The added 3% service fee even for debit card purchases, when they don't charge any fee for a check is a cheap and underhanded way to make a few more bucks on service. I understand the average service fee is 2-2.5% so Shottenkirk is even overcharging for that on top of the cost of service being more expensive. In addition, you are not told up front that there will be the additional fee, but only find out when you check out and get ready to pay. when you have major work done, the 3% adds up to a significant extra charge. I can understand a flat fee of $3 or whatever the true cost of processing, however, a 3% fee is highway robbery. Think about this, if you get an oil change for $75, the service fee is $2.25, if you have major work at the cost of $2,500, the service fee is $75. And I am willing to bet that the actual cost to process the cards in both instances are exactly the same cost. Shottenkirk needs to rethink this strategy as Jerry Damson has had a long, long positive presence in the North Alabama area, and Shottenkirk has the potential to bury that reputation into the ground.
