Worst experience of 15+ cars I've purchased. A few concerns: Inflexibility of price negotiation - While I appreciate that this is a "seller's market" due to car shortages, after I was told t A few concerns: Inflexibility of price negotiation - While I appreciate that this is a "seller's market" due to car shortages, after I was told that I had received the best possible offer for the car...I was still receiving emails telling me the price of the car had dropped. I actually received one such email while I was on the phone with my salesman discussing the final price of the car. However, the price of the car apparently had not dropped. That's just a bad experience, and it feels like mixed messaging to customers on pricing. Add-ons at sale closure - During the sale closure, LoJack and a theft deterrent insurance were added to the car. I did not want these services, was told that I could not opt out, and I was required to accept terms of both services in order to purchase the car...even though the paperwork clearly states these services are not required to purchase the car. I was told that I wouldn't be directly charged for these services, but I'm sure this was somehow calculated into the price (which may explain some of the pricing inflexibility above, the need to recoup costs of these add-ons). To make it even worse, I called LoJack to cancel the service - I was told that the device was not even set up properly on the car...so if I would have chosen to activate the service, it wouldn't have worked anyway. To summarize...in order to buy the car I was forced to accept a service that the paperwork says I don't have to accept, and that service is useless because it wasn't set up correctly at the dealership. I've seen where regulators are cracking down on these types of unrequested add-on services in auto sales and I understand why now. I've asked the dealership to provide me with the location of the unusable LoJack box so I can remove it from the car, but 2.5 weeks later no one is helping me on this despite requesting this from numerous contacts at the dealership. They have their money, so don't really care about customer service at this point. Unpreparedness of the car - We confirmed that we would purchase the car on Thursday and pick it up on Saturday. During that conversation, we expressed that we live 2.5 hours away, and wanted the car ready to go when we arrived, since we were short on time and had a long day of driving. When we arrived, the car had not been prepped, and it took another hour for the dealership to get it ready for delivery. I don't understand why the car wasn't ready, but it wasn't respectful of our time considering we were advised the car would be ready to go. More
