I recently had a concerning experience at the service department of Suburban Toyota of Farmington Hills that I believe management should be aware of. When I arrived to pick up my vehicle, the final bi department of Suburban Toyota of Farmington Hills that I believe management should be aware of. When I arrived to pick up my vehicle, the final bill was higher than the amount previously communicated to me via message. Naturally, I asked the service desk representative for a breakdown and explanation of the charges before signing the paperwork. Instead of explaining the details, the representative responded in a rude and impatient tone and asked me to simply sign the papers first and get the explanation later. This is not an acceptable way to handle customer billing questions. Customers have every right to fully understand what services were performed and what they are paying for before signing any documents. I had to firmly push back and explain that I would not sign anything until the charges were properly explained. Only after this did the representative realize the tone was inappropriate and begin to correct the interaction. While the issue was eventually addressed, the initial approach lacked professionalism and transparency, which is disappointing from a dealership representing the Toyota brand. I hope dealership management reviews this feedback and reinforces the importance of clear communication, respectful interaction, and transparent billing practices at the service desk. Customers should never feel pressured to sign paperwork without understanding the charges. More
