I bought a used F250 and the extended warranty. The dealership applies the modern car buying approach of having to negotiate with no less than three people, some of which you never see. Sales personnel would not come off the price on single car payment . Maybe this is on me but introverts beware. Also, and most important, since owning the truck I’ve replaced the battery, realized it needed pads, and had a check engine light serviced. The battery is perhaps forgivable. The pads are inexcusable. The warranty the sales manager sold me cannot be serviced at Lexus because I later learned that the are not able to read Ford computer codes. I was told to bring it in to TCL so that I could avoid paying the warranty’s deductible. They were unable to service the truck and sent me to a local Ford dealership. They did tell me that they would pay the deductible after Ford serviced the truck. Ford was unwilling to bill Lexus directly. I paid the deductible and have no interest in attempting to get TCL to take care of this. My time and effort is worth the cost of the deductible. A world class customer service department would have sent the truck to Ford for me and perhaps offered some sort of service vehicle while the work was completed. For the consumer: -Lexuses are great and reliable - Ford trucks are great and reliable - exercise extreme caution when - purchasing a used non Lexus from TCL and do not buy the warranty. It seems they are not connected between sales and the capabilities of the service department. - Bring your negotiating A game More
