Dear 'Beth7', I read your recent review regarding your 2011 LS460 and I am so sorry to hear how disappointed you are. I certainly understand your frustration. The last thing we want to do here is disappoint a valued Guest like you. Lexus has of course agreed to replace nearly the entire interior of your vehicle even though the original factory warranty expired a few years ago. The cost of these replacement parts is over $10,000. Of course, this is all being done at absolutely no cost to you. I do not know of any other manufacturer that would agree to do this on a vehicle that is out of warranty. That's the just the Lexus way. Unfortunately, some of the parts for the interior are not currently available and are on back order. We have replaced the dash and the center console as those parts were available. In your case, the parts we are waiting for are the door panels. We do not have an estimate on when these last parts will become available. If we had a date we would certainly share it with you. Again I know you are frustrated, and we are too, after waiting months for the remaining parts to arrive. I know you recently met with Scott, who runs our Service Department, and he told you the same thing I am saying now. Scott has not provided an update because we have not received an update from Lexus. The part is still on back order and we still do not have an estimated date for it to be available. I will repeat the suggestion Scott made when you met with him. Since we do not have any estimate on when the door panels will be here, please take your vehicle and enjoy it. It has a brand new dash and new center console. Once we know a date for the door panels we will call and schedule installation of those. We will even be happy to pick the vehicle up at that time and drive it back to you when the installation in completed. This way we won't inconvenience you any more than we already have. If you choose not take advantage of this offer then we will have no choice but to continue to keep your LS here until we actually receive the door panels. Please understand that this may still be months away from happening and we have absolutely no control over when the door panels will be available. If we could make this happen faster, we would. We of course will respect and honor either choice you make. Please let me know which way you choose, my email is below, and I will take it from there. Thank you very much. Dear Beth 7, Thank you for your quick response and your input. Of course I understand your frustration with the delay regarding the replacement of the last door panel on your LS. As I said in my initial response to you, we are frustrated too. It's not a matter of us being able to contact the right people about the part, we have already done that multiple times. The issue is that the manufacturer has not provided us with a date that they will produce and deliver the part to us. I understand that this does not seem to make sense but it is unfortunately our reality. If there was anything we could do to speed this up we would have done it already. We can't yell at Lexus because they do not produce the part we need. It is the company that actually manufactures the part that is causing this delay. Again, I do understand your frustration. We want nothing more than to finish the job we started and return your 2011 LS to you with a brand new interior as we promised. We are still committed to doing that just as soon as the missing part is shipped to us. I would still suggest that you pick up your LS and drive it rather than letting it sit here. Once the part we need is shipped, we will contact you and arrange to pick your car up, drop off a loaner car for you to use, and then bring your LS back to you when the work is completed, These are the things we can control and we are ready to do all we can to assist you. The only thing I can't do is produce the part we need. If I could, I would. We share your frustration in this but we can only do our best in these situations and we are absolutely doing our best. I certainly understand if that is not good enough answer for you but it is the truth. If I had a better solution I would offer it to you. Thank you for your time and I look forward to hearing from you with your decision on either picking your LS up until we get the part on back order or just leaving it here until that happens.
