Car ran over a traffic cone and all the dash lights came on, took it to the Subaru service department and they ran a diagnostic and said that it would cost $2000 dollars to fix the vehicle, WHAT?. So I too More

I am sorry you feel this way. The complaint was for a check engine light and also the transmission temperature light coming on. After connecting the Subaru laptop the technician found code P2762 which indicates an open circuit for the lock up duty solenoid in the valve body. Upon performing pin and circuit tests it was found to need valve body replacement. The quote for this was $1360.00. The technician checked the transmission fluid level and quality of the fluid. The level was good but it was found that the transmission fluid had degraded to the point it was not shedding heat like it should and causing the transmission temperature light to come on. The quote for this was $429.95 to flush the transmission thoroughly and replace the fluid. The technician did have time and equipment involved in diagnosing the vehicle and should be compensated for his time. This was the $164.00 charge which you agreed to before any work was even started on your vehicle. We are always upfront and transparent with everything we do and would not recommend anything to any customer that we did not feel they need.
