Long story short: if you’re purchasing a vehicle, Elevation is leaps and bounds the best. The prices, the genuinely kind team, and the ownership set them apart. Now for the full story, for those who have the time— I owned a Hummer EV that had a rare issue: a warranty block that wasn’t disclosed when I purchased it from another dealership. After countless hours of searching, I learned there was no way to reinstate the warranty. It was a huge disappointment, since I loved the vehicle. I was on the verge of spending a large sum on an aftermarket warranty when a friend introduced me to Adam, the owner of Elevation. Adam listened to my situation and told me he had almost the exact same Hummer on his lot—only 100 fewer miles and still covered by the full manufacturer’s warranty. What happened next floored me. He simply said, “Let’s just swap Hummers.” I was in disbelief—who does that?! But that’s who Adam is: one of the kindest, most genuine people out there, simply wanting to do the right thing. Quincy, the sales associate who guided me through the process, was also outstanding. And here’s the kicker: I live three hours away and had never set foot in the dealership. Adam and his team still made it seamless. Quincy drove three hours to my house to pick up my old Hummer, then returned the next day with my new Hummer and all the paperwork ready to sign. Completely flawless from start to finish. This kind of generosity and service is unheard of in the car business. Elevation has earned a lifelong customer, and I’ll gladly share this experience with anyone looking for a vehicle. Skip this dealership and go elsewhere in Asheville/Morganton/Rutherfordton/Burnsville areas. As an out of state customer, I was interested in a cash $75k+ purchase because the truck I wanted was in their inventory. The salesman was irritated that I had not read an email he sent with the final numbers on the evening that he emailed them to me. I told him that I reviewed them the next morning and had a couple of questions. I asked Mr. McNeely two questions about the accessories on the truck and whether the delivery fee could be waived. He immediately said, "you are just making this too hard and we either get this done today or we're going to have to move on." This was literally within three days of my first contact with the Sales Manager and my second conversation with McNeely. I was, and continue to be, dumbfounded. Business must be great for this dealership to treat a new customer this way that would have probably closed on the deal the next day and picked it up in the next few days (since they wouldn't waive the delivery fee). I live 200 miles away and work full time and have a family...not an unreasonable request. After thinking through it, my guess is another customer drove onto the lot and wanted the vehicle. Proves these folks (Sales and Management) have no integrity and are simply lazy. Please go elsewhere. Who knows what these people with no character will do to the next unsuspecting customer....just honest feedback folks!

Bought Used Torrent, cash deal asked several times if any known defects. Over and OVer how great the car was. Allowed short test drive seemed ok. On way home noticed the engine temp gauge didn't work. Took car right back was told it must be sensor bring in on Friday and we will fix. Well 3 hours after leaving car they call not sensor and told to call back Monday. Called Monday told not sensor but entire cluster, and they would give me a break and fix for $750.00 it was not a safety issue. They then said it went out on the way home...When I called and asked the part number to have it fixed outside dealership they refused to give it to me. My mechanic fixed it for less than $400 parts, progam and all...If you consider buying a car from Grindstaff take it to an independent mechanic and have it checked out because they DON'T

I needed a VA State inspection sticker. They got me in and out very quickly. I needed one of my tail light bulbs replaced and they only charged me a few extra dollars to do that. Would recommend them to anyone. 10/10

All the work that Mack Brown did on my car wound up having workmanship problems, which were in some cases documented by other dealers and mechanics. The first work I had them do was replace the fuel pump. They replaced the fuel pump and supposedly cleaned out the gas tank as I instructed them. We kept having strange problems with the car cutting out as if losing fuel. We took it back several times but could not get them to fix it. The last time we took it up it sat for a month. When I called for a status he indicated that he had not had time to work on it. I left it there so he would have more time, and after two months they called me up asking what I wanted them to do with the car, to which I replied “Fix the car.” We went up to find the tires flat and the battery dead in the parking lot – these people did not look at this car for three months! I finally had someone else work on it and they took the gas tank off and found it full of rust and dirt and it was clogging the fuel pump filter. Apparently the service people did not clean out the fuel tank when they replaced the pump. We replaced the tank and fuel pump and the car runs fine. In another case I had them replace the transmission. I took the car to another dealer to see why the car shifted funny and they found that Mack Brown had installed the wrong screws in the transmission case and had stripped the metal holes in the case. They had also left off a bracket that helps hold the transmission in place. I paid for it to be fixed and never was compensated by Mack Brown.
