First thing that impressed me before even coming were the incredible reviews and to know that they are being taken into consideration with a response! Now that's what I call REVIEW RESPECT! Then to go into the dealership and find out that they are credible to everything that was in their reviews! We had the pleasure of having George Aflleje as our salesperson who is EXTREMELY PHENOMENAL! He showed us the car we desired and he kept my son and I informed of every single solitary detail of the car before, during and after the test drive all the while having us laughing like crazy! I appreciated his sincerity and compassion and being straight forth with us as we we decided. Even though we had to leave to see other cars he was gracious and respectful. I must say I may have sabotaged the visits to the other dealerships because I was rooting for George and besides I was looking for the best dealership overall of where to buy my son a car. hat means from the time we met the salesperson to the end of the visit. I was impressed mostly with George Aflleje candor and I honestly believe he was GOD sent! Also to find out the owner of the dealership answers each review? He is AMAZING and that what makes his company and the people that work for him AMAZING! It trickles down from the top! Lol!!! We love the car! We enjoyed our time there! The car is great! The warranty is great and the service was EXTRAORDINARY! Thank you St Augustine Hyundai for living up to your 5 stars rating which is beyond and above that to me!!!! Thank you thank you THANK YOU! Test drove and RX-8 that likely had deteriorated engine mounts judging by the ridiculous amount of vibration at idle and the engine bay reeked of gasoline and rich exhaust, even after a warm-up period. Walked away from that one. My girlfriend was interested in a Jeep Compass. When it came down to negotiations, the fun started. The salesman I was handed off to spoke of "saving" us money on the car by quoting the already lower online-listed price of 900 less than sticker. I began negotiations at 25% less than the online-listed price. When he came back, he rejected the offer and did not give a counter offer. He tried to justify the price by saying it had a clean carfax. While the carfax did show that the tires were rotated and the oil was changed regularly, there was no indication that any of the transmission fluids, radiator coolant, differential fluids, timing chain, water pump, or any drive belts were changed and would need to be done. When I called him out on this, he informed me that "timing chains don't break," which is an obvious lie (or maybe he honestly didn't know any better) and a potentially dangerous one if someone were to believe it. We continued for a minute when he said he would send me the service department inspection from when you picked up the vehicle. That was Sunday and today is Wednesday. Still waiting. Either some of the salesmen need some additional sales training or the dealership is just not that interested in moving their inventory. Before I posted this, I sent a message to the dealership in order to reconcile and attempt to purchase the vehicle and was responded to allegedly by the owner of the dealership, who was also unwilling to negotiate. He tried to "compensate" me with a $100 visa card. I rejected their offer and instead decided to post my honest experience. Below is the message they sent me. Didn't even counter-offer. For reference, I offered 6000 on the jeep (roughly 8000) that would have required at least an additional thousand dollars to bring maintenance up to date. I will surely never do business with this dealership. "My apologies for your experience here and I appreciate you brining it to my attention. I will make sure Shawn's management team is aware of this so that they may take the appropriate corrective action. I apologize we cannot meet your budget requirement on that 2007 Jeep Compass. While it does not rectify the negative experience you had at our dealership, I would like to issue you a $100 online Visa gift card to compensate you for the inconvenience. Second time was a charm! I went Saturday after driving 12 hours to this dealership to buy a car and had a pretty bad experience. I felt strongly enough that this was a VERY isolated incident and decided To go give them another try! I am sooooo happy I did. We were treated like we were the only customers in there. They made th experience so easy and seamless. From the owner himself to the sales manager to the salesman and even the detail guy, they were all absolutely amazing! I am definitely sold on not only Hyundai for life but on Hyundai of st Augustine! More
