But this year I took advantage of a factory-to-dealer clearance rebate for 2018 models in Feb. of 2019 to get my new Prius Prime Advanced, and took my time shopping for the “perfect” dealership. I came as close as I could to perfect at Toyota of Wallingford. My overall experience with the dealership is a 4.5 out of 5.. but what brings the full 5 rating is the customer-facing sales person who is clearly in my corner.. in the person of Elvin Witcher, who is “Mister Prius” to all who know him, and deeply respected among his peers and his customers. Elvin is passionate about his cars and deeply knowledgeable. It was a pleasure to ride with him, learn from him and ultimately sign papers next to him. Elvin has been in touch with me several times since... the relationship did not end at point of sale. I’m also grateful to Jay Marmolejos, who was tough but fair at the trade-in negotiation.. we came to a satisfactory deal. Also, “CJ”, who took point when I had to complete the transactions at a late hour. The staff did right by me.. and every step of the way I was treated with respect and deference. He also always answered his phone. I was slightly disappointed that the service department could not find part numbers for the tonneau cover. I was able to find all the parts via other Toyota dealerships online parts catalog and ordered them. Hence my 4 star rating. More
