Toyota of Tampa Bay is at worst a company of scammers and at best, totally incompetent. I test drove a car for my daughter last week. I was told the car had passed some kind of 100-point safety and inspectio at best, totally incompetent. I test drove a car for my daughter last week. I was told the car had passed some kind of 100-point safety and inspection test. Then a day later I was contacted by Westshore Honda, who also had the same brand and model to show me. I set up a specific appointment with one of their salespeople to see that car. When I arrived for my appointment, the salesperson couldn't be found and the car was not on the premises. When I asked why, they said the car had failed an inspection and was going to be wholesaled. (So then why schedule the appointment with me to drive 40 miles round trip?) It turns out they were talking about the same car! Toyota of Tampa Bay and Westshore Honda are sister companies. So one dealership is telling me the car passed a detailed inspection and the other says it failed and was being wholesaled. When I confronted the salespeople at both dealerships, all they could do was backpedal with a lot of mumbo jumbo. My salesperson at Toyota of Tampa said he would send me a copy of the inspection report (the day after Labor Day), but of course he never did. I would never deal with either of these two untrustworthy dealerships again. More
