I am a born and raised Tucsonan, and am now raising my 3 kiddos here with my wife. I love my job working for a fantastic local mom and pop dealership here at Tucson Subaru. I got started in this business helping out around my grandfathers Chevron service station when I was a little guy, and haven't left the auto business since. I started off in the dealer world as a Service Adviser in 2004. I was in service here at Subaru starting in 2010 before I started on the sales side in 2014. Stay Local in Tucson I recommend you go with the local Tucson dealership, they were honest, they honored the TrueCar price despite not being a participant in the program ( I recommend you go with the local Tucson dealership, they were honest, they honored the TrueCar price despite not being a participant in the program (and eloquently explained their objection to the TrueCar program as a whole, which basically boils down to the TrueCar company taking a middle-man's cut of each car sold via the program). I'll be blunt, the Phoenix Subaru dealerships will undercut the Tucson dealership because the Phoenix dealerships can hit volume minimums and work at a slimmer margin--its simply a numbers game with how big Subaru looks at things. That being said, your margin isn't going to be too much higher with Tucson Subaru, it keeps the business local to the area, and I'm confident that the hassle I saved by simply going through the closer dealership makes up for the price difference. Props to Steve Willis for putting up with my endless haggling, something that I hate about the entire process, as well as being flexible about short-notice visits to the dealerships and also being comfortable with dealing with prices over the internet and having an honest discussion about the car-buying system as a whole. Curt McHenry made the financial process very easy and was comfortable with moving through it at my speed, to include explaining warranties in a way that makes sense in a service-orientated way (i.e. what are the real results and examples of the various warranty/coverage options that they'll try to tack on at the very end of the car-buying process). He also seemed very knowledgeable regarding maintenance schedules and car specifics as he worked the service side of the house before moving to financial management. Loren Henry, manager, stepped in and was very responsive to my many questions and was patient with the whole process. He stuck by his word when he gave it and was upfront about where the dealership stood on certain things, which I can respect. I'm fairly happy with the dealership. You can play the Phoenix/Tucson dealerships off each other, and the Phoenix dealerships are more the happy to try to undercut the Tucson one in a very blatant fashion, but the people at the Tucson dealership were straightforward--so if that's what you're looking for in your car-buying I recommend that you start the conversation at Tucson Subaru and see what they can do for you. More

Kevin allowed me a 72 hour time period to "sleep" on my decision without pressuring me to close the deal! This was an important selling point to me. Kevin provided a follow up low pressure phone call during this waiting period. At all times my interaction with Kevin was very friendly. Kevin communicates well with the elderly! Better experience than any other dealership! My husband and I have made our rounds at dealerships both in Tucson and Phoenix for a variety of car brands over the last 6 years. We've had our good and our very, very bad experiences. I can without a doubt say this Subaru dealership takes the cake in great experience! At first I thought that since they were the only one for Subaru in town we might not have the opportunity to get a fair deal considering there isn't really another place to go shy of outside the city. Well after my purchase its pretty clear they are the only one because there is zero need for another one. I had done my research online and narrowed down the cars I was looking for and had test driven and made contact with several dealerships by the time I approached Subaru. I was initially going for a 2016 model of the Forester XT Touring but considering the 2017s were rolling out there was nowhere in the state that had what I was looking for anymore. Trent worked with me to go over the cost difference and feature difference for a 2017 and it was a no brainer and I am so, so happy he helped me get a 2017 ordered after test driving a 2016. I had about 2 months of wait time for it to come in but was kept updated along the way and any changes I wanted to make were as easy as a text to Trent to let him know what I wanted and confirmation from him shortly after that it was taken care of. The level of confidence I had in a car I had yet to see was remarkable because of the way the people at this location treated me. I was comfortable enough to sell my Honda private party (obviously trading in a Honda at a Subaru wasn't ideal) because I had a time frame that even when Trent became ill, he stuck to and made sure I was taken care of. This was the difference for me affording an extended warranty or not and was a huge deal to me in the end. The scheduled date and time for my pick up went smoothly even with Trent sick. Kevin helped us and stayed late to finish everything as well as the finance guy Curt. I didn't feel pressured and any mention of other options (extended warranty, etc) was thoroughly detailed out and they were very honest about what would benefit me and what they didn't think would. They have such nice touches at this place, such as food and water for your dog if you happen to bring Fido along on a service visit. I was even given a bouquet of Roses along with my purchase. That is cheesy, don't get me wrong, and I know full well Im not a special snowflake who was the only one to ever get that but the way it was done, it had that effect even with me knowing better. Talk about smiles and satisfaction. I'm so confident in this dealership that I am writing this before my remote start and interior/exterior treatments are done on my new vehicle. I have no doubt they will do just as well as they promise me they will and I look forward to working with this place for the next decade that I plan to have this car. I've already taken enough space for this to keep going on just why I love my Forester. There are a million reasons and anyone who is considering one, I urge you strongly to get your butt to this place and look at what they offer and work with no pressure and competent people who help get you exactly what you want for a price you can't beat.
