I currently have my Subaru getting the engine replaced at 92,000 miles with an independent shop in Santa Rosa. The dealership wanted to wash out my crankcase at 300 a try, after trying that and a fuel cleane 92,000 miles with an independent shop in Santa Rosa. The dealership wanted to wash out my crankcase at 300 a try, after trying that and a fuel cleaner( The charge was 650 for that service). The noise from inside the motor was clear that something wasn't right, but it wasn't creating an error code. The shop in Santa Rosa took my car, listened to it, and said there was a noise from the #1 piston. Not news I wanted to hear on a 2018 car, but at least it's a decision. I'm irritated at Subaru of America for building a car that the short block fails at 92,000 miles with perfect maintenance. More
