I'm sorry you feel as though The Service Team didn't go to bat for you with your warranty company. The dealership is not the final arbiter of what is covered and what is not covered, all we do is diagnose the problem and relay the facts to the warranty company, the decision is entirely theirs.
That said, it's always our hope the issue you're experiencing is a covered repair. We don't want you to have to come out of pocket to fix your car, especially if it's still under warranty. I don't know if your advisor offered to submit the claim to Hyundai for "Good Will" coverage, but if you would like to discuss it I can be reached at 775-682-3352 or SRobert@Lithia.com.

! I had a nail in my tire, and unfortunately, it could not be repaired. I dropped the vehicle off at about 10:00 and got the call from Lance at 2:00 stating my Santa Fe was ready to pick up. He had to go out to the USA Parkway to get the tire, so 4 hours for the repair, including changing the tire, and mounting and balancing, was quite impressive. Lance is a true professional who cares about his customers!! I highly recommend him to any of my friends who own Hyundai’s or any other type of vehicle.

I had a serious issue with the tire blowing up a month ago on the freeway as I was travelling 65-70 mph. Thank god, I was safely able to get to a triangle safety zone with no cars behind me. Highway patrol had to tow me to the nearest shoulder.
Thereafter, I was not pleased that I had to shell out $$ for a brand new car. First I was asked to contact customer service, and customer service stated that the rim is covered with warranty and only the tire was not covered and provided me the Pirelli contact details.
I called Pirelli and they asked me to have your service manager forward the tire remains via your supplier to them, so they will evaluate and reimburse.
I stated this to the Lithia service manager and also provide case numbers with Hyundai Customer service and case number with Pirelli. Unfortunately the service advisor was stating the contrary with Hyundai customer service, and using "outside influence" etc.. that was unneeded.
The car was then supposed to be fixed and provided Monday (dropped off on Wedneday evening), and it was a provided a week later, and I had to check up on the status constantly. No loaner was provided.
I also spoke to the service manager and asked for a price break due to the circumstances and he said he would get back to me. NO call back and I reminded the service advisor about the same. No call to date, really disappointed with this experience and regret this experience overall. Not sure why I would need to call so many folks and obtain contrary advice. Dropped a note to Lithia as well, and also escalated on service line.

Sorry to hear about your recent tire issue, but I'm glad to know that you and your car are safe, and that it was just a tire that was damaged.
Yes, when it comes to tires and warranties on a new car, it is the tire manufacturer, not the vehicle manufacturer that covers the warranty, that is why you were referred directly to Pirelli. Also, when it comes to tire issues, if the damage is the result of hitting an obstacle in the roadway, that is not something that would be covered by the tire manufacturer's warranty, that is usually covered by your automobile insurance.
That may be why the advisor stated there was an "outside influence"? I don't know for sure as I write this, but I will check with your advisor and the service manager tomorrow when they return to work.
That said, if there was not an outside influence (if you didn't hit anything and the tire spontaneously just disintegrated) it's reasonable that Pirelli should cover the replacement of the tire.
