Had a very good cargo van buying experience this past week. Had been in the market for a few months looking online, met with a rep at a big Cincy Chevy dealer and had emailed him a couple of times all to week. Had been in the market for a few months looking online, met with a rep at a big Cincy Chevy dealer and had emailed him a couple of times all to no avail--the van I wanted with the options I needed apparently couldn't be found. So I kept looking and waiting. Finally, I decided to check out Tom Gill, walked in on a Tuesday and within minutes was speaking to Jordan Holt about what I wanted. The two of us consulted with Ryan from Gill's commercial division and before long we were online searching the region at dealerships within a radius of a few hundred miles for the van I wanted. Several candidates for my selection appeared before long. The trick then was to see if one of those dealerships would be willing to trade one of their vehicles (the van I wanted) for a vehicle currently at Tom Gill's. That's where Jordan came in. Later in the afternoon Jordan phoned to say one of the dealers was willing to trade. The next day my new van arrived at Tom Gill's and the following day, Thursday, I returned to meet with Jordan to conclude the deal and drive off with my new cargo van. Two days.
