Got my tire fixed right away. I was concerned about timing at first, as well as cost, but it was all covered by my warranty. Very grateful! More

This was our first time buying at this dealership and the staff is very friendly and has a good feel. The service department is small and not overwhelming so easy to do business with. More

Still have heard from you? If I can help please let me know? Richard Lewis Managing Partner Rlewis@shottenkirk.com

I really thought I'd just not respond to your request. Because to be honest, I feel it will just be another waste of time. Sorry, but my efforts with your dealership have led me to feel this way. Its a time consuming process, and don't know about you, Sir, but my time is limited due to other daily obligations. And, really I ought not have to be explaining my disappointment and displeasure, if I would've been done right to begin with. I came to Shottenkirk Honda with hopes of getting a good deal on a slightly used vehicle. But, when was assured I could get a new one for about the same amount in payments, I gave it consideration to the point, that's what I did. At first I was told of how I could lease the vehicle, would be cheaper payments, no hidden charges, etc. So, took this route. Because something didn't feel right, I got to looking over the paperwork, and there were many charges I didn't recognize. Sorry, I could be more specific, but when I had to take time away from my job, to return to the dealership a day and a half later, Mr Dowdy, took those papers and said would destroy them. (I guess so. With all his errors present on them.) So, told him and Mr. Tuck I would just purchase the vehicle instead. I have good credit, and a 2000.00 down payment. Mr Dowdy came in the office where Mr Tuck and I were re-doing my paper work for the purchase. He said was going to give me a deal on an extended warranty because of "all the trouble I had went thru." Said he'd give it to me for 2000.00. I asked did the new vehicle not come with a warranty already? He said, yes, a year or 15,000 miles, which ever came first. I asked if this was really the only manufacturers warranty Honda had? He said yes, and it is limited. In light of this, I decided I'd better go with the 2000.00 "deal" he was offering. Then, even though I felt like some oil changes should've been thrown in, he and Mr Tuck said, "oh no, service is not ever given with purchase of a new vehicle." Why?? I really thought I watched very carefully this time to what they were doing with my money and name. The tire pressure low light came on during the first week of me driving the car. Put air in the tires, noticed 1 was lower, but thought maybe from just were it had sit at dealership for a while, or because was a little colder for a few days that week. Discovered I had to recalibrate the TPMS myself. Which was surprising. Most reset themselves. Approximately 2-3 days later, this light came on again. At this point, I was a little bothered. This is supposed to be a brand new vehicle, it had not even 700 miles on it at that time. This prompted me to pull my paperwork out again to look for information to see if I had coverage on a tire. This is when I discovered I had been lied to AGAIN! That deal of 2000.00 on warranty was figured in at 2570.00! On the sticker that was on the window of the vehicle, to my surprise, it stated there was a 3 year/36,000 warranty.? The sticker price is 31,625.00. I was charged 32,924.00 sale price, I don't know why. But, hey, I understand a business needs to make a little money. So, that wasn't too bad, I thought. But, as if enough money wasn't obtained there, I was taken for much more, I discovered. The 500.00 cost of a maintenance warranty, and your ridiculous 699.00 service fee were added to the cost of the vehicle before the taxes were computed, making taxes be higher. I'm sure when too much tax is paid, you all probably get the excess back. I looked up the cost of a title fee in Georgia, its approximately 18-20$. You all charged me 117$. The inflated tax, and all your fees now had the vehicle selling price at 36,462.12. Then the 2570.00 "deal of a warranty," that I didn't even need, got added. Now we are at 39,032.12. THEN my down payment 2000.00 was the last number subtracted out of all that bring total to 37,032.12. Why wasn't my down payment applied earlier in the confusing placement of numbers? It surely would have benefited me if it had've been taken out before taxes were determined. This all is on the Buyers Purchase Contract. Now when comparing this to the Retail Installment Sale Contract there is a big difference. Total Sale Price = 41,240.72. Yes, I got a pretty good interest rate, I've got good credit. But, a huge finance charge of 2208.60 made that interest rate not worth a flip. When I noticed all this, I immediately called the dealership and ask to speak with the manager. I was forwarded to Jason Lemmar. Explained all this to him, and he immediately said I need to speak with Mr Dowdy. I let him know I did not want to speak with Mr. Dowdy, for I didn't trust anything he would say, and afraid I would end up with some more hidden charges out of him. Mr Lemmar asked me to bring the vehicle up to dealership, and my paperwork and we would look over it. So, more of my time invested, went there. He had my vehicle taken to the service department. As we were walking toward an office, he stopped and ask Kevin Dowdy, where he could use an office at? What? An assistant Manager not knowing where an office is to talk with a customer? Does he not have an office? He basically did nothing for me. Told me the 41, 240.72 is what I will have paid if after 72 months I pay the payments in full. Then that IS what I paid for the vehicle in the long run of things, right? I cancelled both the warranties myself thru EG Assurance by contacting them, printing the cancellation forms and emailing to them. Do I get back some of that 699.00 service fee yall charged me? They informed me the Dealership would be responsible for refunding the 500.00 I was charged for the Maintenance contract. I would appreciate a prompt refund. Mr. Lemarr said, "its fine you cancelled them, but your payment isn't going to go down any." Like I told him, that is not what I did it for. I don't care if my payment goes down any, maybe it will help me get the car paid off sooner. He doesn't know as much as he thinks. I am not a mean person, I just expected fairness and honesty from all that I dealt with at Shottenkirk Honda. Which I did not get. Got my car back, oh it was just a screw in my tire, they said. Said they "plugged it." Oh wow, a brand new vehicle I just paid way too much for- lovely, with a plugged tire! At least could've give me a new tire, you think? This is the 1st brand new vehicle I have ever purchased in the 55 years I have been living in this world. I honestly could enjoy it more, if it hadn't of come with all the dishonesty, unfairness, stinginess, and time wasted in trying to take all this away. By the way, Heritage Honda in Rome, sells the same vehicle, with oil changes for a year throwed in, for 29,000.00. Imagine how I feel knowing this now. So, you ask what could you do to change my mind about Shottenkirk Honda? Well you consider all this, and tell me what can be done? I realize I signed the contract, but there was a lot of numbers placed in it that I was misled on. I just don't understand why. Can't even feel good about my vehicle. It was a terrible buying experience. I give up, I can't put anymore time in to this. If I could trade the vehicle without having to suffer a great loss, due to the hiked up price it came with. I would do it quickly. But, I'm stuck, with no choice but to pay 545.00 a month 72 times. Very Sincere, Cyndi Cochran 3/30/21
