This is a known issue by KIA - easy to confirm online, that the internal housing for the port is known to fail on the 2023 Kia Sorento hybrid model. Also didn't provide me with written denial of why the warranty is not being honored, only a verbal. Morgan originally stated it would take up to 48 hours to confirm whether warranty covered replacing housing, then still tried to charge me $200 for diagnosis. When I pushed back and asked to speak to the manager suddenly I would get an answer right away. This was a very disappointing interaction. Expected better service based on other reviews, My warranty covers this, and thwy are not honoring it.

I’m sorry to hear that you were left dissatisfied with your experience.
As we discussed during check-out, our inspection found that the charging port had sustained physical damage caused by an external influence. Because the concern was the result of physical damage rather than a defect in materials or workmanship, it is not covered under the vehicle’s warranty - thus any pre authorized charges for diagnostics when we expressed how the entire process would be going from check in. At that time we were forthcoming that if it was a manufacturer failure diagnostics and repairs would be covered.
You also mentioned that this condition had been present since you purchased the vehicle used from another dealer. At that time, I recommended reaching out to them, as they may be willing to assist depending on how much time has passed since your purchase.
I understand this is not the outcome you were hoping for, and I apologize for any frustration this situation has caused. While warranty coverage does not extend to externally caused damage, we were happy to provide our findings and guidance on possible next steps.
