Actually, John Hine Mazda was recommended by a friend and my entire experience there was outstanding but Craig Milton was at the very center of it all so I must thank him for his expertise and enthusiastic assistance. Walked in looking for a price and information and drove out with a 2017 CX-5 GT. What impressed me the most was the knowledge Craig had of the several vehicles on which I was inquiring. I like details so the detailed explanations I got from Craig were well appreciated. When he was done and a price was given, I had to buy the car. When I initially started my search and decided to contact this particular dealer, I was assigned to the Sales Associate named Tony Tehrani. I've never worked with a car salesman like this. 0 sense of urgency, not responsive, I kept chasing him just to get a conversation started, and I still didn't receive any proper communications for the longest until a short email from him came through somewhere between all the chasing at some point, which wasn't even helpful. He seemed like he had no desire to interact with me (or himself by making a sale).
I sent Tony a detailed email sharing my vision and game plan of how to get a new Mazda. Maybe he didn't like some of the ideas that I had in mind (dollar figures, payment options, trade-in value, etc.). But not even responding back was just flat out wrong even if he may have thought of me as a "not so ideal buyer" for whatever reason.
The morning before I was supposed to get my new car from Galpin Mazda in Van Nuys, I thought I'd reach out to Tony again to close to loop . My goal was to see if he can help me with a better deal since I was leaning towards Galpin. He didn't even call or email back that whole day. Then around 6:30 pm that same day, the person who "saved it all" called me. Her name was Maria. I don't know her last name, but I've been informed later on that she was a Sales Manager.
Maria was cordial, customer service centric, and also solution oriented. She understood that I was simply trying to seek the most ideal scenario through which I can get into a new Mazda. My situation was slightly complicated, but Maria kept coming up with options. Didn't "force" me, but she walked me through those options so that I could make an educated decision.
My exchange with Maria started on a Friday night at 6:30 pm and ended around the same time on Saturday. She was diligent, detailed, and attentive all through out that time. And many thanks to her tenacity and creativity, she was able to come up with an option with which I decided to move forward with Mazda Culver City. After that, I called back Galpin Mazda in Van Nuys and cancelled the deal they were trying to prepare for me because of how effective Maria's custom designed solution was. I happily signed a 3-year lease for an 2017 Mazda CX-5 in excitement.
The gentleman from the finance (Julio?) was also very helpful, genuine, and thorough. I appreciated his approach.
And finally, Rosy gave me the tutorial on the technical specs of the vehicle, which was very helpful. Her overall delivery and presentation were comprehensive, effective, and informative. Much appreciation for Rosy as well.
Aside from my serious frustration with Tony Tehrani who probably wrote me off as a "no good lead" for whatever reason after my introductory email, the only other thing I didn't feel great about was the waiting period for my car to be cleaned. I waited for over an hour, even went across the street and got a haircut, but the car wasn't ready at the promised time. I had dinner plans, I gave enough heads up to them team, but the car wasn't ready until I was 40 minutes late to my dinner plans at 6:30 p.m. Although that was a smaller item, it can still be an area of improvement that the dealer may choose to improve upon within the whole car buying experience for the customers. That's all.

First time car buyer. Spent close to 3 weeks researching for a CX-3 Grand Touring in AWD, this was the only dealership with a color I liked. I requested a price quote online that morning, received a response from Hussein within the hour. It was relatively quick process, I arrived that 4 in the afternoon and left there with a brand new car at 7.
When I arrived Hussein greeted me and handed me off to Ed for a test drive. Ed was a great guy. I went in with a certain expectation and Ed definitely defied my expectations. He was very straight forward and he even knew a few things about the car that I did not, and I had spent a lot of time researching this car. He just presented the car and showed me what it can do. No fluff, no magic hand waving that this car could fly like a unicorn, just the facts. There was a small hiccup during the financing portion, financing tried to play a few games with the extended warranty coverage and it took a little while to work that out but that was a small blip during an otherwise great experience..... 10/10 would buy again.

Was generally a good experience.
Recently called the dealership about some recall I heard about, in the news.
I had some problem with the person answering the phone.
I was a little miffed. Registered a complaint with the manager.
They called me back next day. Apparently, they reviewed the tape also.
They went the extra distance to take care of the issue AND bent over backwards to accommodate my servicing needs.
That surprised me because I expected the dealer to shrug their shoulders and say "things happen".
But these guys surprised me very pleasantly.
Got to say, my faith is restored - there are good people and decent dealers!

I entered the dealership with an appointment as I was a Costco member. I was met by a sales person who followed me to the reception desk. I asked for the Costco rep by name and stated I had an appointment. The salesperson called the Costco rep (Kevin) to let him know I was there (the receptionist was occupied). I was then handed off to the sales manager “Maj” and told he would be handling my Costco purchase. The original car I came to purchase had been sold shortly before my appointment and I was taken to a very similar car. I test drove it and was on board with the purchase.
Even though I had my own financing, I was told I had to give my DL info, SS#, etc. as it was policy– still waiting on price. When I got to the finance office, the price information I was given was different than what I thought we had agreed to. I figured that this was a misunderstanding on my part, and I would not complete the sale.
Maj said not to worry, he had other vehicles that were similar that would work with my budget. I was taken to a white CX-5. I asked what the difference between the cars was and was told that besides the seat package (electric & heated seats) it was the same. I specifically asked if the vehicle had the lane assist & blind spot warning. This was important, as it was the deciding factor for choosing Mazda. I was told it did absolutely have the safety feature and was directed to look closely at the side mirrors (as the only way to demonstrate the feature would be to put the car in a position for the feature to come on, which wouldn’t be safe). I took the SALES MANAGER at his word as the vehicle did not have a sticker, and purchased the car based on the information provided by the sales manager.
Well, come to find out, the vehicle has NONE of the features the first car had, AND NO SAFETY beyond the basic. Additionally, Costco auto informed me that they were to show me the invoice which would include all features, and the pricing sheet for the vehicle. This DID NOT HAPPEN.
There are other concerns and issues but the above information should be enough to explain how the dealership operates.

I was very impressed with Richard my mechanic. He took me on a test drive to actually see if I could feel the pulling to the right. He also explained in detail what he did. I was very impressed with this young man and wished more people treated their customers like this. Also my advisor Ronnie was fantastic. Because of these 2 employees my experience was very good.
Service department damaged my car and not taking responsibil - Mgewarges
Service department not responsive. Car came in for a couple recalls to be completed. Upon picking up our vehicle, we noticed the license plate and frame was smashed in. Luckily no bumper damage, but the right side screw hole is stripped. The license plate was hanging from one side. Clearly there was an incident during service. I've explained my concerns about it, but nobody is getting back to me. It's minor damage, but it's wrong them not getting back to me or taking responsibility as well as having a customer leave service with a license plate that's nearly falling off the bumper. I've called many times. And left multiple voicemails. No response thus far. Terrible! Never again.
