Gerald Kia has one of the worst service departments I’ve ever dealt with, and their behavior was borderline deceptive.
I brought my Kia Sorento in for a transmission issue. At drop-off, I physically demonstrated the problem to the service writer, Marty, who clearly saw it and confirmed it himself. I also requested a routine oil change and tire rotation.
After dropping the car off, they gave me a loaner the next day — which now feels like a distraction tactic rather than actual service. The very next day, they suddenly claimed they could not confirm the issue at all, directly contradicting what their own employee had already verified.
Later that same day, I received another call with a completely different story:
They said the transmission had been replaced 10,000 miles ago by another Kia dealership and that it was grossly overfilled with DOUBLE the required transmission fluid.
Let’s be clear:
That is KIA NEGLIGENCE, not mine.
Instead of escalating this internally with Kia (which is what any competent dealership should do), Gerald Kia tried to dump the responsibility on me, telling me I had two options:
1. Come pick up the car
2. Pay for a transmission flush
Unacceptable.
I then contacted Kia Consumer Affairs, opened an official case, and was instructed to leave the vehicle at the dealership while Kia handled it. When I informed Gerald Kia of this, the service manager Justin reacted emotionally and unprofessionally, demanded the loaner back immediately, and made it clear they had no interest in helping once corporate got involved.
I returned the loaner and decided I was done. Suddenly, they claimed all charges were waived and I owed nothing. That’s when I asked a simple question:
Were the oil change and tire rotation I requested actually done?
The service writer said yes — then scrambled to find paperwork — and finally admitted THEY WERE NEVER DONE AT ALL.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS DISGUSTING DEALERSHIP! ESPECIALLY THEIR SERVICE MANAGER JUSTIN! CALLED ME AFTER HE SEEN THIS REVIEW UPSET ABOUT IT DIDNT GIVE ME A CHANCE TO SPEAK AT ALL! HE KEPT TELLING WE GAVE U A LOANER FOR FREE FOR 1 DAY, LIKE REALLY? YOU GAVE ME A LOANER AS YOU SHOULD SO YOU DIDNT DO ANYTHING FOR ME AT ALL! PLUS THAT LOANER WAS JUST TO KEEP ME QUIET! THEN REPEATEDLY KEPT TELLING ME YOU ARE NOT A MAN YOU ARE NOT A MAN! I FELT HARASSED AND THREATENED ME NOT TO EVER COME BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP EVER AGAIN AND HUNG UP ON ME!
