I ordered a Grand Highlander from this dealership at the - bioteacher
I ordered a Grand Highlander from this dealership at the end of the summer and picked it up on October 6th. MY salesman was Jesse Willig. They required a $2000 NON-REFUNDABLE to order the vehicle. As a retired teacher, I'll simply give my impression of grades for the three folks I had interactions with or simply had effects from dealing with them.
I never met the sales manager (so I can't give you a name) but he's the only one I truly couldn't give a passing grade in any area. In my grade book, he gets a D-
It's that low because he's the only one who never took time to meet and greet me (even though i was dropping $55k at his store. He low balled me several times on my trade-in value. I wanted to sell my trade in at home but I was told that would cost me my $2000 NON-REFUNDABLE deposit. I moved him up from a F because he did raise the trade in value to match another Ohio dealership. I also take some ownership in not researching the value of my car before beginning the deal.
Jeremy Dean was the one I dealt with in Finance. Since I was an out of state buyer, there was a possibility that this could be a nightmare. However, it was not. I thought they made me wait too long to begin but the process went smoothly. The only thing here that displeased me was they ignored my down payment. He said the amount I wanted to put down was not needed since my credit was fine for the purchase with the trade in. I had planned to wait three months to pay it off so the dealership could get some money back from the finance company but I just paid the whole loan off within 30 days. I had originally grade Jeremy out as a B but he provided assistance several times in getting my paperwork through the various channels so I graded him as an A-
Of course, i had the greatest amount of interactions with the salesman so I graded him in four areas. I gave him an A in the area of having the car prepared for me to take delivery, It had been cleaned and all additional accessories were there. That area was without complaint.
Face to face interaction at the dealership only graded out as a C. He was distracted and kept leaving us and going somewhere else. I finally saw he was working another deal while we were trying to finish up. For example, he said he would help us transfer all of the items in our old car to our new car. Didn't happen because he was outside talking with another couple. Of course we were capable of doing it ourselves but don't tell us one thing and do something else.
The grade was originally a D but he provided links to lodgings and ice cream so I had to move it up due to extra credit.
The worst area was in showing us the features of the car and how all of the tech worked. In this area, he failed the course work. Yes, he did connect my phone but that was the sum total of his help. The 26 GHL was significant enough from my 22HL that the trip home was rough. A straight grade of F in this area :(
The most important area to me was his consistency from the beginning of the process until the end. In this area, he was excellent! Nothing changed from August to pickup day in October. No last minute surprises, no last minute added fees, The price we originally agreed upon was the price I paid.
I would buy from Jesse again in the future but I would probably avoid having a trade in. Jesse gets an A.
