For the first time since I purchased my 2013 Prius, I feel like I was a victim of an attempted scam! On my last service visit the advisor, Nolan, the advisor for the most recent visit, confirmed that I w feel like I was a victim of an attempted scam! On my last service visit the advisor, Nolan, the advisor for the most recent visit, confirmed that I was informed my Prius rear brakes needed replacement. The brake pad thickness was 2-3mm on the rear brakes. So when I scheduled the most recent maintenance appointment, I included the rear brake work. While running some errands during the maintenance work, I received a video from the technician showing how the work was going and the results of his testing. In the video, he stated the rear brakes were 6mm and needed no replacement. It felt to me that I was about to spend $531.00 dollars that weren't necessary! To compound this disillusion of a scam, when I called to make sure this unnecessary brake work was not performed, all of a sudden, Nolan nor anyone else, could be located to stop the fraudulent brake work prior to being done. So I hustled back to the shop to stop it. More

I spent over $1,000 on new tires and wanted to take advantage of the financing option. I thought I was prepared because I had frozen my credit and called to unfreeze to get the financing for my tire p advantage of the financing option. I thought I was prepared because I had frozen my credit and called to unfreeze to get the financing for my tire purchase. For some reason, I was denied which created much stress for me. I wasn't prepared to spend this money without some financing options. My credit score is 825 and I should have been approved. I know that this is not a direct reflection on Toyota service but was very stressful and my car was in the shop for an oil change just 3-4 days before this and they replaced the air filter and cabin filter on this day, but the techs said my cabin filter needed replacing again. This was frustrating also because at this point I am questioning the credibility of the service techs. I do like the video that is sent. My husband is very critical and thinks car places take advantage of women and people like me because I am so gullible. I hope that is not the case. I am cancelling my next appointment and going to someone local that is cheaper. More
