I had a dead battery in Tucson, and felt like the local mechanic was taking me for a ride. I called my regular service rep Steve at Cardinale and he calmed my anxiety -- letting me know what I could do to fix the issue without paying a fortune. He was able to accommodate me last minute when I asked if he could take a look at the car when I came up to Mesa over the weekend. As a graduate student on a budget, I have to be selective about repairs. I feel that this dealer has the customer's best interest. Steve is a shining example of this. More

Good people make a great dealership This is our second Mazda from Cardinale Way Mazda. We came back due to the positive experience we had on our last new car purchase. This experience This is our second Mazda from Cardinale Way Mazda. We came back due to the positive experience we had on our last new car purchase. This experience was as positive and pleasurable as the first. We purchased a new Mazda 5 and Brian Soncrant was our salesperson. Brian worked with us in selecting the Mazda 5 and then in selecting the specific automobile that met our needs perfectly. Brian went over and above my expectations, he is a genuinely nice person. Thomas Michael, manager, was open to our offers and worked with us to secure a fine automobile at a decent price. Finally I want to also thank Nick Santarsiero, Assistant Service Manager. Before I met Nick I believed that taking your automobile back to the dealer for service was a mistake. I have worked with Nick for a few years and found him to be an honest, caring, individual that deserves this endorsement. More

It was a lengthy decision making process consisting of at least four trips into the dealer over a three-week period before the deal was done. Through it all, we never felt even the slightest bit of pressure from Eric Little. He was by far the most professional car salesperson that I've ever worked with. His patience and courtesy with my mother-in-law's VERY drawn out decision making process earned our business. I visited several other dealerships with her over the course of our search (after first visiting Cardinale) and she would consistently mention that she disliked the pressure she felt at the other dealers and appreciated that the "Mazda guy" didn't put any pressure on us. As far as the deal, the price quoted to us on our first visit was what we ended up paying. It was as good as any deal on a CX-5 that we found during our search. I was very pleasantly surprised at how straightforward everything was from beginning to end. Thomas Michael (Eric's manager) was also great to work with during the process. We're definitely satisfied customers! More

Eric Little did a great job My husband recently purchased a used truck from this dealership. We were fortunate enough to be assisted by Eric Little. He was very helpful. In fa My husband recently purchased a used truck from this dealership. We were fortunate enough to be assisted by Eric Little. He was very helpful. In fact, the truck we bought had just been purchased at an auction by the dealer so it was still in the dealership shop when we went to look at it. Eric took us back there anyway and called us as soon as it was ready to show. He was super laid-back and was not a high pressure, pushy seller. Our experience with Eric was 5 stars, and the only reason I gave the dealership a 4 was because Eric's boss wouldn't budge an inch on the premium price being asked for the truck and wouldn't even replace the two front tires that were sort of worn. So, in all we were satisfied with this dealership, and we would definitely recommend asking for Eric if you decide to go there! More
Denied obvious mistake, later apologized/admitted truth. IN A NUTSHELL, INCLUDING UPDATE: A Nissan car was listed and priced as a higher end model. It was not. It very very obviously a lower end model. When IN A NUTSHELL, INCLUDING UPDATE: A Nissan car was listed and priced as a higher end model. It was not. It very very obviously a lower end model. When I brought this to the attention of the salesman and the manager (with evidence!), I was not taken seriously. It felt as if they didn't want to hear "bad news," and so they intentionally ignored it, despite the implications of misrepresentation. I complained here on DealerRater. They then took the car to a Nissan dealership in order to verify and "prove me wrong." They then called, apologized, informed me that the VIN number pulled up the higher end version when typed into the database which is what they based their decision off of (instead of the actual car and evidence), and then admitted I was right. They lowered the price and re-listed the car correctly. They did apologize, and I totally see how this was an honest mistake, however I am still a little miffed that I was not taken seriously the first time. It wasn't until I complained publicly (here) that they gave my concerns and obvious evidence any attention. Original (full) story: My husband and I found a great car that we really liked and wanted to buy. It was late at night and we had to get home to relieve the babysitter, so we promised to be by the next morning. That night I did a little bit of double checking research (edmunds, kbb, etc.) and discovered their price was high, despite their verbal guarantee that they had the lowest or second lowest price on any car in the state. This made me curious, so I did a little more research and discovered that the Pathfinder for sale was labeled/priced as a "2010 Nissan Pathfinder LE," which is the higher end version of a Pathfinder (lots of bells & whistles). The car was obviously a 2010 Pathfinder S, the lower end Pathfinder. Photos, internet research, and official "features" listings absolutely proved it. I mean, this car had no 2010 LE bells & whistles, it was the "S" (lower end) version by every account I could research. I really liked the salesman, Matt, that we dealt with, and so I assumed that it could have been an honest mistake. I called Matt and explained my hesitation, and told him the evidence and where he could see/read the evidence for himself. He said he'd talk to the manager and get back to me. Turns out the manager not only refused to admit a mistake, but didn't change anything to reflect the truth. Despite blatant evidence that the car was not as represented, they denied and refused. I still wanted to buy it! I just wanted a price fair to what the car actually was! Admit your mistake, even an honest mistake. Or even just apologize and re-label/price the car for what it really is. Truly, I am more upset about not being taken seriously, than the actual (likely no-fault) misrepresentation. It felt like they didn't want to hear "bad news" truth, so ignoring it was their go-to option. Honestly, I still want the car, I just wish it was a company willing to admit an error that was selling it. **[UPDATE]: The manager (Al Lanz )has since called to apologize. He explained when they entered the VIN number into the system, that they took the car to a Nissan dealership to verify what the car actually was. He admitted that I was correct and apologized. They lowered the price to a fair price for the Pathfinder S. I will admit I was miffed that my initial concerns and evidence were brushed away and weren't taken seriously until I wrote a review. But I am grateful that they apologized and corrected the situation. More
