The service dept at Family Hyundai has forgotten what customer focus is and are operating with bad attitudes over the lack of mechanics, taking it out on the customers. They have no plan for long term supply issues and were very flippant about it. They had my car (not even 2 years old) for 10 weeks awaiting a part they weren't even sure would correct the issue, which had presented 3 times in a 2-month period, with a different "diagnosis" each time. The ONLY person with any professionalism was my service advisor, Colin Simmons, who kept in contact with me, gave me any information he could and seemed to genuinely care about my plight. Yes, I was fortunate to have a loaner vehicle, but I was still making monthly payments on a new car that I could not use and did not require advertising for Hyundai. When the work was finally done, I had to go back twice for a loose screeching belt, which they only considered when I suggested that was the problem. I felt like they just wanted to get me out of there, so did a rush job and didn't complete it, as it seemed they didn't check the work. In addition to inferior care in the Family Hyundai service dept, I placed a call to corporate seeking guidance and assurance my car was not a lemon given the 3 events with conflicting diagnoses occurring in a 2-month time period when I had owned the car for less than 2 years. I was given a case number and assured a case manager would call me within a week. I have yet to receive that call. The entire experience has left a bad taste in my mouth for Hyundai. (Jaclyn Bobbitt, Sales Professional who originally sold me the car, was also very client-driven and went out of her way to check in with me every time I was at the dealer.) More
I've done business with Family Hyundai on 2 occasions. The first time, they were unable to identify the problem and refused to give my concern any further time/effort. The problem was corrected at another Hyundai dealership. The second time I took my vehicle there, someone removed the money that I forgot to take out. I should not have left it but management was very nonchalant about it. After being transferred 3 times and a "dropped" call, I finally did speak to someone who I gave notice of my failure to remove money from the vehicle. I got a return call, letting me know that there was nothing in the car. I accepted what I was told. I guess because it involved cash, I was not surprised but I was hopeful. I will say that they made a special effort to accommodate my need for service. Instead of a February appointment, I was "worked in" in 2 days. The service was good. No need to name names. Of the 5 people that I spoke with, only one took the time to even listen to the reason for my call before transferring me or simply leaving me hanging, waiting until my call went back to the operator and I had to start all over again. . The sale went great. I was offered what I wanted for my trade in and they had the car I was looking for.
