I brought my 2018 Honda Civic to the dealership in Staten Island NY on Tuesday July 14 at 9 am for a check engine light issue. Code was for a camshaft position sensor. I was told by the service advisor that the vehicle would be repaired by Wednesday. However, the vehicle was not even inspected until Thursday. On Friday, I came over to the dealership and was told they were still diagnosing multiple codes. I was offered to take my vehicle and return the following Monday for repair. When my vehicle was brought out about one hour later! I was told the battery was dead and that it needed to be jump-started. The battery was working properly when I brought the vehicle to the dealership. Again the car was perfectly drivable. I of course did not drive off in my car with a dead battery and insead I rented a car from Honda. Next day on Saturday I called service advisor Elaine and told her I would be willing to pay for the new battery but not for the diagnostics, because they failed to find what was the issue with my car. I am requesting that Honda review this situation and consider compensating me for the battery replacement and labor charge. I would also like to mention that my service advisor, Elaine, was professional and helpful. My concern is with the overall service process and handling of my vehicle, not with her personally. For two days my car stayed in the shop without being worked on. And my car as a result had a dead battery. More
