I did not realize I was manipulated until I returned to the hotel. Eddie Brooks kept distracting me with off-topic small talk. When I said I was trying to figure out what I was missing, he started in again on the distracting small talk. He did not want me to figure out that the original price which he wrote up the papers for and had me sign ( for $21,500) was the correct price but the second set of papers which he had me sign, also, was for $25,100, but did not include the trade in value. It was not until I returned to the hotel, looked at all of the papers I had and looked online, that I realize I had been cheated and the correct price $21,500 was including the allowance for my trade in ( 2004 Hyundai Sonata). I repeatedly asked for copies of the papers Eddie Brooks had me sign, but did not receive them, nor have I received them in the mail, as promised. I did not receive the car sticker with options and price until I was about to drive away,, in the parking lot. Just before driving away, I again asked for all the above-mentioned papers and Demetrius said I did not need those papers. He said, "This is all you need. There would have been more papers if you had financed the car". When I returned to the hotel, I figured out how smoothly I had been manipulated and did not realize it until later. I could have used some help remembering to remove the SunPass transponder and security code sticker, which I forgot. You all do this on a daily basis. You should have helped me with those items. Still waiting to receive those, as well. Now that I am home, I remembered my last car shopping experience in 2009, with a gentleman neighbor. Having a man with me, the sales experience was totally different. No games, small talk, distractions, missing papers, etc. Just straight talk about price and options. I really feel I was taken advantage of, as a woman, alone. I would not recommend this dealership to anyone. Beth Moore More

My experiences were rather dismal and discouraging as I went from dealership to dealership trying to get a car. The irony of all the situations was that they had the car I wanted in stock but they insisted on trying to screw me in every was possible. It left me amazed and taken back. My experiences ranged from the car salesman locking my keys in the manager's bullet-proof office so I couldn't leave (Daytona Nissan) and a salesman insisting on taking my personal information when all I wanted was their bottom dollar on the car; he felt it necessary to attempt to get me to buy the car when I clearly explained to him that all I want is to see how low the dealership will go on the car so I could plan accordingly since their "internet" price was apparently different than their sticker price (Daytona Toyota). So, if you're in the market for a car avoid all the dealerships in the Daytona area, especially the Daytona Auto Mall (except Fields, they were reasonable and friendly- we just couldn't make a deal). About 3 weeks ago I was online looking for a specific car and I noticed that Hyundai of St Augustine had the car in stock. It was a Saturday and I decided to give them a call and Paul picked up. He seemed nice, patient and pleasant on the phone which was invigorating and encouraging since all I have dealt with were salesman demonstrating the opposite- impatient, eager to get me in and "seal the deal". We talked about the car and I came down to look at it a few days later, the car was great and we ended up finding some numbers that worked for me and my budget. The whole time Paul made me feel really comfortable and confident in what was going on. He was honest about everything, even told me that the loan I was able to get through my work was a more favorable one than they could offer. So, I ended up buying the car and have been happy every since. The dealership even sent me a check because I saved money from documentation fees by bringing in my own check; I highly doubt most dealerships would have done that. If you're looking for a great experience and have had your dealings with unfavorable dealerships then try Hyundai of St Augustine and talk with Paul Smathers. He will make you feel at home whether or not you make a deal or not. This has been the most stress-free, easy and honest encounter I have ever had with a car dealership. More

I had done considerable research and knew the model and price I wanted to pay for a used car. This dealer had several in my price range and had great prices compared to other dealers. I had e-mail communication with George before I came to the dealer, so I was looking for him when I arrived. George was busy with another customer when I got there, so Gordon agreed to help until George was finished. I told Gordon what I was looking for and what I wanted to pay, and he took me to the lot and showed me what they had. Gordon showed us every car we were interested in and was very helpful. He was never impatient or tried to talk us into buying any particular car, he just wanted us to find what we were looking for. When we narrowed our choices he let us test drive each car. When we finally settled on the car we wanted, there was no haggling over price, we paid the price advertised on the internet (and according sites like Edmunds, KBB, etc, the prices were very good). This was the easiest deal I ever made to buy a car, and George and Gordon were both friendly, helpful, and entertaining. In the end, both salesman made sure we were happy with our purchase, and followed up a few days later to make sure we were still happy. I would definitely buy another car from Hyundai of St. Augustine, even though it is over an hour drive from my home. The staff is friendly, helpful, and there was never any pressure to buy. More

She addressed every concern and introduce me to a Hyundai team mate, who would be detailing my car upon the completion of service.
