My day starts out when I enter the dealership and notice a employee yelling at a mechanic over something. This was my first red flag. It turns out this was the same person who had given me a problem. His na a employee yelling at a mechanic over something. This was my first red flag. It turns out this was the same person who had given me a problem. His name is Mr. Priamo Perez . He is the assistant service manager at Island Toyota . I arrived a little after 9 am for a scheduled oil change. As for the usual dealership thing, Mr. Perez suggests all sorts of other services which I don’t have the time for or money today. He then gives me a dirty look after declining. Yes they work on commission. I worked in dealerships before so I know how that goes. He then makes a rude comment to me all because I asked him if they had an oil change coupon being I usually get them in the mail. I didn’t have it with me at the time . I then defended myself by saying, “Why are you talking to me like that?” That annoyed him and he did not like. All this is going on while he is also talking to someone on the phone which is rude while helping customers. He snaps back at me calling me a tough guy because I am standing up for myself. He proceeds to tell the person on the phone who turns out to be his DADDY , “I have to call you back Dad, I have to go and kick someone’s xxx . All this is being heard by fellow employees and customers to their disbelief and I am sure was being recorded by the many video cameras that were there. I then walk outside for a sec to which Mr. Perez follows me. Still mouthing off to me saying now I am going to kick your xxx . This is when the fellow employees get involved to defuse the situation. I now instruct them to please get my truck and I want to leave. I square up the bill with them and notice that Mr. Perez put on some services which I did not approve of and have to pay for since the services were done. I now go home to call Toyota corporate to which they cant’ believe this happened and that I was treated as such by Mr. Perez. I explained there are many negative comments about this person and dealership on the internet. I also told them to please take a look at the video to see the situation that had happened. The rep said they will contact the Island Toyota dealership and have someone from there call me back to which they never did . Why would they? I am sure they all stick together and lie for each other at Island Toyota. The rep at corporate asked if there was anything she can do for me . I told her no thanks. I don’t want any refund or services and that I am never ever going back there and will tell everyone I know my story and not to deal with them either. I then told her the only thing I think should need to happen is that Mr. Perez needs to be terminated and shouldn’t be dealing with the public and bringing his negativity to the workplace which all the customers and employees in the dealership witnessed that day. Imagine one day he talks to your wife or daughter that way. One day he will mess with the wrong person and the situation won’t turn out in his favor. All of us on Staten Island may like the fact that we have dealerships right in our own backyard. But the truth is people are just rude here and don’t treat each other with respect in their daily lives. Ask anyone that lives here and I am sure they will agree. The gift of gab on the island is a big thing. Word of mouth is king. The internet also plays a big part in what we do and how we live our daily lives. There are many forums and websites that describe customer’s experiences with businesses here on Staten Island. Do yourself a favor and sacrifice convenience and do your car shopping and services somewhere else. Why deal with rude people who have no respect for themselves and others . They are many car dealerships just a few miles away in New Jersey. Sansone for one is really close and they have many dealerships of your choice. The best way to hurt businesses who do you wrong is in their wallet. Go someplace else. Share the post and make it go viral ! Stick it to Island Toyota ! Go to NJ ! More
They don’t answer your calls , false advertising and they let you feel that there are annoyed when you call. I emailed the internet sales manager twice with no response . I left two messages with a promise t let you feel that there are annoyed when you call. I emailed the internet sales manager twice with no response . I left two messages with a promise to call back , two days later I received another sales call like never contacted them. Worst dealership every, I will never go back to them or recommend them More
*****Let me preface by saying this service center is fine, they will probably perform your service... probably. But read ahead if you are a critical person who cares about attention to detail.**** Do fine, they will probably perform your service... probably. But read ahead if you are a critical person who cares about attention to detail.**** Do not trust this service center to take care of you if you love your car beyond it being a mode of transportation, and know that Sal Sciarrino is an angry, depraved, ignorant macho man and overall disgusting human being. He is the quintessential inhumane dealer/service center boss. Right off the bat, my request for the service advisor (Priamo) to look into a rear creaking sound during acceleration and downshifting was DENIED. Reason? "Comeback". To those who don't know a comeback is when service is performed but the problem comes back. First of all the car is under warranty. it's their obligation to help the customer, especially considering the issue was never addressed. They took the car in to see if they could reproduce another issue I had and I noticed it said car wash. ****I adamantly told him don't wash my car**** he acknowledged by telling me "I see you don't want anyone touching your baby". Great. Of course they did wash my car. Not only was it a horrible wash but they completely butchered my paint. My paint was VIRGIN. 2 car washes done by professional caring hands, and several maintenance rinseless washes done by myself. The car is now covered in swirls head to toe, dense, concentric circles of horror. I managed to eacalate to meet the Director. Mr. Sal Sciarrino, big shot Mr Macho man, Submariner waving, X M riding testosterone drenched Sal the Pal. Make way for Senor "I took time out of my day to come down here for you" Sciarrino. He was nasty and had a gigantic ego. He denied my car has the scratches as indicated in my photo. He refused to come see the car under sunlight, he told me I bought the wrong color car, he had no reading comprehension so he wasn't even aware he had the story wrong regarding my diagnostic request denial, he made a cringey comment after I directed a request to his service manager Besa (Who was calm and courteous by the way) He said "SHE WORKS FOR ME!!" YIKES! He told me he doesn't scratch cars, that he washes 100s of cars a day. He actually sctaches 100s of cars a day. His car wash protocol involves NO suds, DIRTY nylon brooms, and NO water pressure. A recipe for disaster. He said he's been washing cars for 25 years. He's been scratching cars for 25 years. He took his grubby disgusting hands and dragged it across my hood to clear dust and dirt. If he knew anything about cars, and specifically car paint he would know that's exactly how swirls occur. But doesn't, because hes a sad amateur, a pencil pusher that can talk the talk but can't wash a car aiiyaaaa. He was a mad man. He told me to leave the car with him so he can fix it. Why would I let him take a rotary to my clear coat if he can't even wash the car? That's makes no sense. Compounding is an art, and Sal couldn't identity an artist if Michelangelo himself walked through the doors. Eventually I got in contact with the general manager and Vice president of Island Auto and they did right by me. They offered to contribute to my repairs from a trained professional and for that I give respect for recognizing that Sal is a useless mongrel. Hopefully he got a stern talking to. And hopefully he knew at the time that an an idiot like myself wouldn't give up so easily. I implore everyone to recognize Sal for what he is. A very sick person, a very immature person, a person who has no regard for other human beings. He should lose his job as the director of a service center. The Island Auto group is probably a fantastic Auto group, one they will become even more supreme if they ever kick Sal to the curb. He's not worthy of the position. I can do a better job than him...and I'm an idiot. I rear my case. Island Auto group gets 5 starts Sal gets nothing. Because he is nothing. He's a pathetic service provider. Stay away from Sal. More
