The dealership is excellent, top notch , but the collision center is not anywhere near the same level. I brought my truck in to repair damage from a collision claim with insurance. The default was after market parts to replace my rear bumper and tow assembly on my 2025 Sierra 1500 AT4X with less than 5000 miles on it. This was completely unacceptable and I had to go back and forth with the dealership and insurance who agreed to use OEM parts, but would not document this on the estimate. The collision center is a “Selct Service” shop, which sounds good, but from my perspective it only means the shop has some sort of agreement with the insurance company to get you out as quickly and cheaply as possible, which they did in my case . When I picked up my truck after repairs, the bedcover no longer sealed with the tailgate as it had prior to the repairs which had allowed water into the bed during the wash or weather which left detergent marks in the bed when the water evaporated. There also was a shop towel and other debris that was not in the bed when I had dropped it off. Also, no one offered to review the repairs and work that had been done in the vehicle to make sure it was satisfactory. A few days after I picked up my truck I got a package in the mail from the dealership that contained a vehicle theft recovery device that the accompanying note told me the shop had not reinstalled after the repairs. When I contacted the colision center to attempt to have these items addressed, they told me they asked me to send them pictures of the bed cover, which I did. They said the installation of the recovery device would have to be a separate appointment with the service center. So hopefully I will be able to get this taken care of. This is the second GMC I have purchased at James Wood in Decatur, and the service with sales and finance was excellent. I’ve brought vehicles in for service such as routine maintenance, repairs, or recalls and I’ve been extremely satisfied with the service center. . The collision center, however, is an entirely different story. More
