A few were overly cagey, one was outright befuddling, but a few were actually quite straightforward and helpful. Brian Goon at Liberty Subaru was one of those straightforward and helpful salespeople. Dealing with him was easy and enjoyable. Before the sale: - Off the bat, he gave me a reasonable quote for the car I actually asked about. - He helped me understand the price impact of various accessories and trims. - He replied to more than a few annoyingly detailed questions from me. - He replied to me in my desired mode of contact (email) instead of insisting on calling or texting. (Calling and texting are fine too, but I just preferred email while researching cars.) - He was really responsive over both email and phone. - When it came time to finally make the deal, he worked with me and we got to what was, as far as I could tell, a fair price. After the sale, he remained really responsive and clear. When it came time to pick up the car, he walked me through its features, prompting my dad (who was my ride to the dealership) to comment that Brian was maybe the best car salesperson he's ever seen handle a sale. tl;dr — buying a car can be a pain in the behind, but Brian Goon and Liberty Subaru made it easy. I put in an online query at 10 pm and Jeremy had an email response out to me at 9 am the next morning, and then helped connect me with exactly the Forester that I wanted at a very good price. He was low-pressure and answered all of my questions. At the time of pick-up, he was very thorough, knowledgeable and patient in going over all the features of the car. A very likable and effective younger employee with an engaging and winning manner and a bright future--I recommend him highly! Rob Bontemps in Finance was also very helpful and effective. Aggressive pricing and low pressure salesmanship We knew exactly which Subaru model we wanted, so we used an on-line website to seek out the best pricing. That is how we discovered Liberty Subaru. Their pricing stood out among four or five dealerships that responded to our search. Once we settled on Liberty it became our good fortune to be introduced to their salesman, Daniel Rovelli. He allowed the Legacy to sell itself (not a hard thing to do), and he played absolutely no tricks regarding the pricing. Everything was transparent and there were no bait and switch tactics. His sales technique was low pressure, thus averting one of my pet peeves of car dealerships. Once the deal was done, Dan handed us over to Rob Bontemps for all finance matters. Rob was patient and thorough with his explanations and tailored the financing to our needs. All in all, we had an excellent experience at Liberty Subaru. More
